I should have dared to say that it was overtracked(I had seen an analysis on neogaf from gfk leaks,the overtracking comes mainly from the rest of europe),I was afraid to do it for obvious reasons!However,provided that ps4 is so much overtracked,xb1 coulb be overtracked too and maybe even more than ps4...!

I think a lot of people are overseeing the bigger news here (imo): 10.9 million PS+ subscribers.
This is where the real money is coming in, this gold mine right here provides a ton of revenue every year.
The best part? the number of PS+ subscriptions will only increase with time as more and more people buy PS4s.
What a great time for Sony to have this generation pretty much on lock.

If ps4 is overtracked by 1M and a lot was from row, and x1 before holidays had a lousy ratio against it prior to holidays and then in holidays it was qute Closer don't you think x1 could be quite overtracked as well?

I think the ps4 reached 20m this year, dude didnt said specifically when it reached 18.5. There is still 1 week to go from 20th december.

yea and if Sony is smart they make PS5 bc again, as digital sales will be pretty big this gen (not bigger than retail yet) and many people will feel too "invested" to swap platforms again
actually I though MS could already play this card this gen, but I suppose the Jaguar CPU isn't strong enough for decent X360 emulation

the japanese article states PS4 sales (to consumer) exceed 18.5m by jan 3rd (NA/SA/EU) / 4th (JPN/Asia) 2015 - shipments however might have reached 20m in 2014, we will have to wait for Sony's quarterly report for that though
Great numbers. Although I didn't think the numbers here were undertracked like others, I also didn't think they were as overtracked as they are.
X1 almost certainly overtracked a fair amount as well as I don't see anyway they could have been much closer.
