Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Looking at Gamespot's averages vs the norm on gamerankings

Average ranking for a PS3 game vs average -1.3

So a game that would get an 8 would get a 7.9 in Gamespot standards.


Looking at PSP's average on the norm -.05 difference.

Meaning a game that deserves an 8 will get a 7.9... or an 8... depending on how they round.

So no. No they don't.

Average review for a 360 game? -1.2

Average review for a Wii game? -1.3

They're actually a little biased towards the PSP and remarkably consistant otherwise.

So what Meta averages are YOU looking at.

You can question their methods for reviews some games.  However to claim they have a systems bias... it seems to be without basis.

I do not understand how 7 hours drops scores so badly. This is a HANDHELD system with a game that WILL NOT get a PS2 port.

Not to mention that I have seem them give plenty of games with under 5 hours storymode play score over 9 with them.

Who trusts Gamespot anyways? Who listends to any of these reviewers who sometimes actually get paid off to give better scores? Halo 3 anyone? These same tools gave this game a 9.5/10, so I guess it is just as good, possibly better than games like Brawl, Galaxy, Ocarina of Time, etc... with it's average score right? Even 360 owners will tell you it is BS.

Buy the game and make your own decision. You know PSP games can be rented right?

Perfect example of why you should make your own decision is Metacritic. Halo 3 is rated 94, yet users rate it 75. almost 20 points lower. Tells you something huh? I doubt it is a huge hoarde of rabid fanboys either. I used this logic with Magical Starsign on the DS. It was rated around a 79, with users rating it over 85 consistently. I gave it a shot and saw why the users enjoyed it so much.

These reviewers don't even properly review games anymore, thus the reason the Lair user average score is 10-20+ points higher than the average.

 That was the borderline. Rate it any lower and jobs get tossed.

 You know they are paid very good money to hand out high scores right?
