MK64 tracks are bland and ugly. The game is not as narrow because it supports 12 players now, instead of just 8.

Having 12 players should represent a higher challenge, not an easier one.

I still don't get the love people have for MK64 and DD
I have both of them and I personally don't like them that much
In MK64 the tracks were really boring and the AI was pretty bad, not to mention horrid controls
Double Dash fixed the issue I had with the AI and the tracks, but the controls were almost as bad as Mk64
Idk, might be nostalgia for most people, but I think MK8 is the best one

This is the same situation as Smash Bros Melee. I had never played it before until recently (couple weeks ago) and it SUCKS. It is so unbalanced, way to quick paced and etc. Seriously, sucks. Nostolgia is the only reason people say it is the best.

As for Mario Kart, I definitely agree that when ALL pros and cons are shown, Mario Kart 8 is the best.

Ya, glad you feel that way about Melee too. I think it is a fine game and all, but people literally worship it. Pretty much anyone who says it is the best smash obviously hasn't played Smash U or is nostalgia blinded.

Constantly bumping into each other doesn't make a game more difficult, just more frustrating.

Besides, games don't need to be difficult in order to be fun. I can enjoy games that are a stroll in the park much more than super difficult games that require you to have fast reflexes (otherwise known as trial and error.)

But yeah, the items in Mario Kart 8 do piss me off.

Mario Kart 64 is trash. Played it at my friend's house who owns an N64. Hasn't aged well at all.

DD battle mode is far better.

Just like the N64 courses in Mario Kart 8 are far better than the (bland) original ones.

Nope. MK64 tracks with less effects, lighting and worse graphics requieres better skills, are more narrow and more varied. MK8 just looks beautiful but doesn't have any difficult, are wide and with different ways enough to eliminate the sense of being in a competition. All you need to do is keep your distance and use items, which, are worse and you can only have one at a time (way inferior feature to the predecessors), with examples like the useless coins.

MK64 tracks are bland and ugly. The game is not as narrow because it supports 12 players now, instead of just 8. Mario Kart Wii was fucking annoying with everyone bumping into you. At least in Mario Kart 8 you get a speed boost when someone bumps into you while you're in anti-gravity mode. Very good addition, even if it's small.

And having one item is actually more strategic than having two. Defensive players got rewarded way too highly before Mario Kart 8, especially someone with 6 shells or bananas.

Those are cutscenes. I mean in-game. I liked more the GC game than the Wii game.

Can't really argue there. Though I did like them more in RD. RD is probably my favorite FE game. For me it goes...

1. FE10

2. FE7

3. FE13

4. FE6

5. FE9

6. FE8

7. FE12

Well at least you kinda like one of them. My favorite from the three is MK8 although I've never played Hyrule Warriors.

I have all four games and I simply LOVE all of them

The three wiiU games were a hit at home these holidays. Fun multiplayer is all what I needed to keep family members busy while I was preparing the (huge) dinner with my sister and father for the New Year´s Eve

Unless you play MK8 and Smash online or with friends it will not be fun.

MK8 needs less cloud dude and more freedom when you fall off the track. Shortcuts, etc. Weren't we able to drive off track in the 64 version? Things like the train tunnel that made it unique. Adventure/exploration. Trying to find shortcuts and hidden stuff. Todays mk, lacks soul. Unlocking tracks is the only thing that brought me joy, and pavo's right, anti grav means nothing. You hardly ever see that you are upside down!

100% agree.

Exploring for shortcuts (or longcuts) was very fun. Feeling nervous because everyone can do the shortcuts in Wario Stadium at our firts attemp and you fail!

Edit: Oh, and agree also with your first sentence!

Past iterations were fun for single and multiplayer sessions.

Hyrule Warriors keeps you busy endlessly, if you are into collecting the stuff.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is simply awesome.

Hyrule Warriors is easily my least favorite game out of the three, and I love it. It's a good action game to waste time, but personally it was like the appetizer before the entree.

I find it interesting that you point out how wide the tracks are in MK8, because that's one thing I despised about MKWii. It was so narrow and falling off was so frequent because of it. MK8 being wider made me enjoy it so much more and it's more chaotic in a fair way. Bumping into each other isn't really a big issue anymore, it's really just the items that screw me over. But that's any Mario Kart.

Smash Bros. surpassed Bayo 2 as my favorite Wii U game of the year. I loved Brawl but I was never a die-hard Smash fan, yet this entry makes me want to play it constantly. It's very addicting.
