Having 12 players should represent a higher challenge, not an easier one.

Constantly bumping into each other doesn't make a game more difficult, just more frustrating. 

Besides, games don't need to be difficult in order to be fun. I can enjoy games that are a stroll in the park much more than super difficult games that require you to have fast reflexes (otherwise known as trial and error.)

But yeah, the items in Mario Kart 8 do piss me off.
