This is the same situation as Smash Bros Melee. I had never played it before until recently (couple weeks ago) and it SUCKS. It is so unbalanced, way to quick paced and etc. Seriously, sucks. Nostolgia is the only reason people say it is the best.
As for Mario Kart, I definitely agree that when ALL pros and cons are shown, Mario Kart 8 is the best.

Ya, glad you feel that way about Melee too. I think it is a fine game and all, but people literally worship it. Pretty much anyone who says it is the best smash obviously hasn't played Smash U or is nostalgia blinded.
