Forums - Gaming - Can you believe it has been 10 years.

This year the Xbox 360 turns 10 but from the looks of it will still recieve numerous amounts of "AAA" games. In the history of consoles, no other console has been able to reach this milestone* and yet still have numerous "AAA" titles released on it. The closest console that has been able to reach this stage was the Ps2 which had around 50 games released in 2010 the year where it turned 10. From this we can just see what an amazing masterpiece the Xbox 360 was at the time to be able to mantain relevance after 10 years. Here are the top 10 best selling ps2 games released in 2010.

* I am aware that the Nes was release in 1983 and in 1993 it still had numerous games coming out but it was released worldwide in 1986       and by 1996 it had no games coming out even though it was still not dicontinued.

* All sales are in millions.

One of the best consoles ever

It's impressive nonetheless, but I'd say it's not AS impressive as the PS2, considering that the PS3 had been out for four years in 2010, while the XBO will only have been out for 2 years in 2015.

I'm not trying to downplay, I'm just trying to put some perspective to things.

You can't just asterisk off the NES. Doesn't matter if it wasn't out WW until 86. It's great that the 360 lasted so long, but it's not the first time.

Ok, how the fuck did Silent Hill Shattered Memories sell 590k on the PS2?

Yes, but by 07 the Ps2 was already greatly sidelined, I mean it didn't get the latest Cod ( Cod 4 ) meanwhile the 360 will get Battelfield hardline and the next cod. The Ps2 is still an amazing console considering everything.

Well it was available on the Wii and PSP as well. If you didnt have a Wii or dont like handhelds, it was the only place to play it...

While I do have a valid reason for asterisking out the Nes it still only had 53* game releases in 1993 which the Ps2 beat and the 360 will probably beat.

I guess we live in the age of cross-gen ports.

Only sports games were ported in previous gens.
