I think 7th gen is hands down the best gen. In a year, PS3 will also be 10 years old and there will be the same exact thread ( albeit with less downplaying...)

WORK OF games that should not be cross gen or release on the old gen anyway.

My console of choice, last gen. For all of its flaws, the 360 was a trend setter and an awesome device. I still have two that get used weekly!

Agreed. Microsoft did a great job with Xbox 360. It was my favorite console in 2006, 2007 and half of 2008. I really enjoyed the diverse exclusives like Kameo, Dead or Alive, Project Gotham Racing, Dead Rising, Saints Row, Gears of War, Viva Piñata, Crackdown, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Ninja Gaiden, Fable 2 and The Last Remnant.

Unfortunately it all stopped during 2008. From there on the only exclusives were sequels of Halo, Gears and Forza. Ironically PS3 really started to shine in 2008 and 2009 with exclusives like Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Valkyria Chronicles, Killzone 2, inFamous, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2 and Ratchet & Clank: ACiT.

After all, it's all about the games (imo).

I'd argue that both the 4th generation and the 6th generation were notably better. This past gen was solid, though.

the neo geo was released in 1990 and got games in 2003, still king

Crazy to believe it's been 10 years especially since back in 2005 I had no idea that the Xbox 360 even existed until I played CoD 4 in 2007, and I heard about a "PS3" around 2006 but never seen one in person. I was only 10 or 11 at the time only really interested in Runescape at the time which is probably why I was so late.

In that case the Dreamcast was released in 1998 ( or 1999 ) and still gets games up to this day. It is pretty cool when a console can survive on its fans.

My personal favourite console of the seventh gen despite all its flaws. This kind of achievement, though, not only shows how great X360 is/was, but also how awesome seventh gen was, too. My favourite generation as well when you also include Wii and Ps3.

And no, can't believe it has been ten years. Time flies.
