Because Sony America are lame

Surely a decision like that wouldn't a regional decision though? I would imagine it's a directive from the top down.

Based on what they did for Vita, i think they take a lot of decisions by themselves without the need for approval , judging what is the" best" for their region

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Likely because preorders are good. So no reason to bundle it, for some lost profit? While the bundle in europe might be to promote the game more in lesser known countries.

Could be, considering the ps blog said that it's limited to select stores, so it's not even going to be a widely available bundle. Seems like it's going to be even less bundled than I:SS, which already wasn't bundled much. Honestly, doesn't look like the game is going to need it, will sell well enough regardless. Then later if they want to push its legs for statistic's sake they can bundle it the same way they're bundling TLOU:R, after the game breaks 2M copies.

The Order is sneaking up the charts. It's at #76 now. Anyone know when the bundle hits?

Here's an interesting post from a Bish approved insider:

I guess I'll be the first of us "BishChecked" to leave a comment, eh?

As soon as the price drop ended for the XB1, it was like someone pulled the emergency brake, people were coming in with the impression the price was still lower, and were leaving annoyed, rather than pay the difference, and the momentum tanked really, really fast. Once the price dropped again, well, it certainly picked up more speed again, but it isn't really selling on the same level as it was prior. That gap in time really didn't help them. I'm not saying that people went out and bought a PS4 instead, but some people just elected to simply not buy at all. We'll see if those customers return sooner or later.

PS4 seems to have smoothly transitioned, and the Last of Us bonus aspect to the bundle doesn't really seem to have made the system sell all that much 'faster'... it is nice though, that customers know they're getting something in the box even as part of the standard purchase, seems to sway some potential haggler types. PS4 won January handily for all the stores/districts I checked. Not really sure on exactly how big of a gap handily will turn out to be on the final numbers, but it was not a close game for us, at least.

And nearly everyone on Gaf is predicting a PS4 by around 20k - 80k roughly (from what I've read so far)

Seems like his retail chain is reflecting what happens on online side.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

I remember reading other GAF users' comments (such as Abdiel) where their districts had significantly more X1's in stock than PS4's. With their & Bish's comments and the fact that the PS4 is leading the X1 in the vast majority of retailers online, we can safely assume that the PS4 won January.

That comment I posted WAS from Abdiel :)

Oh, cool :)

I know there are bunch other GAF users who are Bish-approved, though I don't remember their names since I don't go to GAF that much.

New monthly update

PS4 remains at #9

X1 down one place to #20

Did the PS3 30 dollar price cut happen all across the US? If so we could see a repeat of January 2014 with PS4 > X1 and PS3 > 360

When is NPD ? I won't make joke about vgchartz being wrong again. Just I will check the confirmation that PS4 won in January and gently leaves this website.
