What console did you think would win?

PS4 305 74.03%

Wii U 69 16.75%

Xbox One 38 9.22%

Total:412

Before everything was set in stone, i thought the Xbone was going to run away with it.

The Wii U reveal was interesting, but it really felt like just trying to add some to the Wii formula (which did not sell well in its later years) with underwhelming hardware, so I never expected it to sell more than 35m.

Before all of the reveals, I expected Sony's console to take the cake, because they must've learned from their mistakes with the PS3 (they did).
Microsoft would become the runner-up which they obviously are.
The only thing I did not expect is that PS4 and X1 sales would be this front-loaded and that Wii U sales would be that abysmal (I thought they learned from 3DS' first year).

I have to ask how. They need all the markets to cooperate for that. That's never been something they've done, and there was no indication that anything would change by the time the WiiU rolled out in 2012.

i meant globaly in the us

PS4, obviously.

Oh, well, with that, who could argue?

there's actually a shocking amount of people who thought xbox one would win, and i honestly don't understand why. this is going to sound bad, but if sony pulled the same drm fiasco and microsoft didn't ps4 would still destroy the xbox one. not in the united states or uk, but everywhere else definitely.

PS4.

Playstation will win every generation by default barring any curveballs like the Wii. It's the only console with major representation in all three regions. Nintendo is weak in Europe and Microsoft is a no show in Japan. It has strong 1st and 3rd party support.

Simply put, Sony is in the best starting position out of the big three.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Before any of the reveals, I would have called it a tie between the PS4 and Xbox One. When the Wii U was anounced at E3 in 2011, I knew that Nintendo wasn't to 'win' this generation of home consoles. Jump to 2013 after both consoles were revealed.. when we got more informations from both camps. Which then came with that barrage of PR blunders; including the DRM debacle from Microsoft.. so yeah it became clear to me who would take this generation. The one that didn't fuck it its launch.

I think Nintendo will win because every generation they make the most profit ...that is what I would say is the winner not who sold the most consoles ......Every generation Nintendo makes the most profit and the same thing will probably happen again with Nintendo this generation ...they are making a profit already on the wii u and it's only been around 2 years ...I'm not hating on the other two ...I'm just stating a fact ......I own all three so no fanboyism here just from a truegamers perspective .....Software is where the money is at ...as long as nintendo software sells well and accessories..they will always profit..software> hardware....just saying..winning in a generation is not all about hardware sales

Heh... They got cheated by resellers. As you can see why Wii owners still don't own Wii U yet, they're waiting for pirated Wii U games.

PS4 won this generation due to PS+ free games monthly, heck, they don't even care about DRM.

PS4

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
