Forums - Nintendo - Retro basicly just comfirmed a new game announcement coming soon!

Plot twist: They're just updating their website.

Around the Network

You're "presuming" that a site revamp will coincide with a new game announcement, which it very easily could not, yet that's still "basically confirmed" to you? Speculation is great, but we really need to stop jumping to such conclusions, at least when making thread titles. Just state how it's a possibility.

Also I don't see why they would be ready to reveal their game after a little over a year. Tropical Freeze was a sequel to a 2D platformer and it took them like, 109 years to make.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

I can take almost anything from them, almost. What i don't want is another Kong-related game. If they are infact making Diddy Kong racing i think my NIntendo-fanboyism must be reconsidered

That's what I've been saying, on IGN. :P

But I expect a new game announcemnet at E3 from them.

I hope Prime with WiiMote/Nunchuck controls...

But anything Retro releases is top notch and a day one buy for sure.

I know ur exaggerating but they didn't really take that long to make Tropical Freeze.

DKC Returns-Nov 2010

DKC: TF-Feb 2014 (purposely delayed to prevent drought, originally Nov 2013)

Also they did some other things between such as developing the retro tracks on Mario Kart 7 and helping port over DKC Returns to 3DS. So 3 years to develop their first ever HD game while doing some side projects isn't really that long. Retro studios has pretty much always had a 3 year development cycle.

Nov 2002-Metroid Prime

Nov 2004-Metroid Prime 2

Aug 2007-Metroid Prime 3

Nov 2010-DKC Returns

Feb 2014-DKC Tropical Freeze

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Probably the only person on here who would be happy if it were another DKC game. Seriously, Tropical Freeze is my favourite Wii U game by miles.

I'd be happy to wait for that one, though, and see them work on something else first, especially something not related to an existing IP since they're such an obviously talented bunch of developers. Then a third DKC game in a couple of years. :D

Metroid in the style of Prime for holiday 2016 as part of Metroid's 30th Anniversary. Also a side-scroller Metroid will release for 3DS in mid 2016 along with a new Metroid Pinball for the 3DS/Wii U eShop all as part of the anniversary.

Haha.. I always wondered if they would ever consider improving their website!

I sure hope their next project is a Metroid game, preferably in the "Prime" style :)

Metroid, it has to be Metroid.
