'98 as well, but '96 (N64 launch) and 2002 (ED, REmake, Sunshine and Prime on GC and GTA Vice City and KH on PS2) were pretty darn close for me too.

Super Mario 3D World and Pikmin 3, pretty much what I wanted.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

1998 ideally but more recently 2011, good times and games were had back then with my 360/PC since my PS3 broke down a year and a half beforehand.
