Full size tablets and especially small tablets are not needed any more. With the release of Phablets the amount of market share that tablets make up will continue to decrease.

Sure full size tablets are still "needed", especially in the living room or other areas, where mobility ain't that important. But they aren't replaced that often as smartphones and phablets: no 2 year phone contracts, even older tablets have "good enough" specs for most people and their batteries don't age as fast as the smartphone batteries (bigger capacity, fewer reloading cycles).
And many people love to shop with tablets: http://www-01.ibm.com/software/marketing-solutions/benchmark-hub/alert.html
Smartphones Browse, Tablets Buy:
Smartphones drove 40.6 percent of total online traffic, more than two and a half times that of tablets, which accounted for 15.9 percent of all online traffic. However, tablets are winning the shopping war. Tablet sales accounted for 18.4 percent of online sales, compared to smartphones, which accounted for 16.3 percent of total online sales, a difference of 12.4 percent.

iPhone 6, 5S and 5C are all in the "medium sized" category, not everyone buys the biggest and newest version. |

No the 6+ is 5.5 inch screen which is the minimum for a phablet. The 6 however is only 4.7 inches, a medium sized phone.

Good to see apple still dominating. The 6+ has been wonderful for me so far. Not too big, not too small, a tad heavy, but the muscles in my hand got their shit together after about a week. Being able to answer emails on such a large screen and then hot switch over to Netflix has been lovely.
Thanks jlmurph!
Having been exposed to the iOS for the first time this year after being used to SAndroid, I have to say the iOS did not impress me. At all.
Therefore, I do not understand the Apple craze.

Wait you went from Android to iOS??

I feel like my S4 is the absolute largest phone that can fit in my pocket - not even that comfortably, I'll add. How does any male walk around with a phablet in your jeans' pocket?

It's all about the game.
I'm sorry, but " phablet" is a very silly name!
