Forums - Movies & TV - Sony's The Interview out now in the US through PSN, YouTube Movies, Google Play, Xbox Videos and SeeTheInterview.com: $6 for rental, $15 to own

Well either way, Sony is losing a ton of money on this. They're skipping the overpriced theater release's profits and going straight to the streaming with no dvd or blu-ray profits. Pretty sure this will end up on torrent sites by the end of the week.

A ton of money? The film had a 44M budget, which is relatively small in comparison to some of the other bigger films.

That score has about as much credibility as a banana has legs. The majority of the votes and the reviews started coming in several days ago. I did giggle when i saw it though

5 euros in my country. 20$ for DVD is overpriced (12 euros max), 20 euros for bluray is fine as you can watch dubbed version at first, original second and japanese dub version for lulz with friends.

Oh, well if you think everything is overpriced, then I don't have a problem with your opinion. But for others, $12-14 is pretty standard to see a movie in theaters, and $20/25 to own it is pretty standard as well, so I don't know why anyone was fretting about spending $6 to watch a movie.

I saw a couple posts about the "theater experience". A small popcorn costs $6, but you wanna complain about $6 for the actual movie???

It's all about the no light stuff and the pretty girl by your side

What on earth? imdb 9.9 with 43k votes? Another hacker group?

Looks like a 6.0-6.5 movie to me.

Overpriced movie to fight communism. Capitalism at its finest.

But $14 to see it in theaters, $20 for DVD, and $25 for Blu Ray is just fine, right?

5 euros in my country.

5 € for a movie? We paid 14 € each yesterday to see The Hobbit Part 3, 3D glasses not included.

Just finished watching it.

Disgusting representation of our great leader.

Shame on Sony

$6 for an HD movie rental is pretty standard guys. Not to mention the fact you get to see the movie a day before its intended release.

Might be 10 for 3D, 15 for imax if i remember corrrectly. 6 euros might be charged for longers movie, add 50 cents or 1 euro for bigger theatres.

I paid 9 euros last time i went to a theater in brussels though, and that was 4 years ago lol.
