They only came into the gaming industry to to take out Sony because they refused to partner with them. They were also working on their own OS and Ms dosent like when other multimedia companies are popular and have their own os, so they sought to destroy the. Joachim keep in who used to be one of the former heads in ms at the time of the Xbox ed creation admitted to this.

Sounds like Sony lol

Sony tried to partner with Nintendo and Nintendo backed out last minute (it was a big mess) so Sony made the Playstation one and well we all know what happened.

Actually, Sony wanted to abandoned the PlayStation project and cut their losses.  It was Katuragi that convinced Sony otherwise.  Nothing "like" Sony.

And Sony had a passion to counter Halo, therefore ordering their developer to create what became Killzone, they all do it :).

And I am quite sure MS wants to dominate Sony when it comes to hardware sales but I am also sure MS does not want Sony to go out of business, these are two companies that have a healthy relationship on a corporate level, it is us fans that make up this imaginary "console war".

How long has it been since Sony has been trying to catch up to Halo? Seriously...don't you think they've given up by now? They are much better at the TPS genre and thats why they've been pouring money into that.

No, they do not have the right intentions ...

It's pretty clear that consumers don't share the same view as Microsoft does ...

Their going to need more than the goal of taking over the living room to be able to truly succeed ...

This is the most accurate thing i've seen in a while. MS wants to own not only the desk top but the living room multimedia centers with their OS. Games come secondary to that. This is goal #1. This is why they wanted to partner with Sony. They knew Sony was a dominant company and wanted to partner with them because dominance would be a sure thing.

Exactly. Sony never tried to partner with Nintendo at all. The were just doing business properly and making sure no one was using their workers without their contractual consent like Nintendo tried to do.

MS goal is one they can't reach. No one can. The whole point of the Xbox line was to be the one box in the living room space for everything. Music,Movies,Games.

Problem. The living room is no longer stationary. The living room thanks to laptops, phones and tablets is mobile. Few kids even watch TV anymore and I mean the physical big TV. It's on devices. For those who do sit in the living room have smart TV's or Roku or Apple TV Amazon Fire. It's a crowded market. MS with XB brand still aiming for what they aimed for in 2001. PS2 won that war. PS3 took it further and now it's not even relevant.

wrong,

you will see in the next 12 months.

nadella has a totally different view of how this should all work and integrate.

A MS ecoverse isn't the answer either. If you aim to be the all in all you will fail. All MS or anyone else can do it want a chunk of that space.

XBO reveal was all about TV Music and games and all inone media. They are aiming to mix windows 10 with XBO. It won't make much of a difference. Everyone will have Windows but not Xbox esp since a large chunk of them have no interest in a console. Now if you mean an all around switch to a service named Xbox I been saying that a while. Doesn't help either as Sony will also. Steam already exists and Gog.

They are trying to please the gamers IN ORDER TO make money. It's not one or the other it's both.

In order to watch dvd's on the origional xbox, you had to buy a $30 attachment while the competion just had the feature to begin. A lot of their cords are designed so that you have to buy their cords instead of universal ones. Like the controler cord on the 360. A regular usb cord works on the ps3 but you need a special cord for the 360.  I think that's evident of MS goal with gaming. It's to make money at the fullest expense of the player.

Hence why they tried the no used games and online only with us. They will try to nickel and dime you as much as you let them. American ISP's do the exact same thing to us. Pay 3 times as much as everyone else in exchange for far less than everyone else.

I would have thought MS attitude pre launch of Xbox One said a whole lot about what they think of gamers.

True. Theshowed their true colors and even xbox loyalists  were ready to turn their backs on MS until Phil Spencer came along.

MS never has or never will care about gamers. They always quit supporting their old console 12-24 months prior to the next consoles release, and as soon as they thought they had a stranglehold on the console market they announced the terrible "pre-180" policies. If it were not for Sony's strong showing XB1 fans would be dealing with that BS right now. It weird this GEN, even the biggest MS fanboy has to be gratefull to Sony this GEN.

If MS ever gets in a dominent position again expect more anti consumer policies to follow shortly after.

That's funny. What does Sony have for PS3 in 2015 that matches Forza Horizon 2, Titanfall, Fable Anniversary and Max Curse of Brotherhood?
