I disagree with this. He is not just black. He is a good actor, he has sex appeal (ask my white girlfriend...and no, I am not black), and he's got all the british sensibility and class I'd imagine any Bond actor to have. He's as good as any of them.  The only controversy here is that he's black, which is a damn shame.

Exactly by the time Craig is done with the role Irdis Elba will be too old.  But you never know since Roger Moore was older then Sean Connery when he replaced him as Bond.  As for Tom Hardy he is to too short to play Bond even though he is only a inch shorter then Daniel Craig.  Henry Cavill would be a good choice.

Always seemed to me to be a B tier actor.

If he is the new Bond, I suspect it will be one of the worst in terms of financial outcome.

Clooney does not have a Bond presence at all, ignoring the non-british colony thing. elba does however and would welcome him in the role. But then I'd also welcome a female Bond.

'Tis but a codename. :P ( probably no longer true since Skyfall but still).

Idris Elba is not african american. He is English.

Pierce Brosnon is Irish so being British isn't important . As long as the accent sounds legit.
