Why is it that the Wii U can handle a solid 60fps but the PS4 and Xbox One can't?

Is this for real? Just look at the kind of games Wii U manages at 60fps. Nintendo games are beuatiful from an artistic point of view but from a tecnic point of view they are waaaay below PS4/X1/PC games like Battlefield 4 (that btw runs at 60fps con both new consoles) have nearly lifelike graphics, 64 players at the same time, destruction...

Are you seriously comparing smash bros or captain Toad with games like bf 4, infamous second son or Ryse? Wii U would literally explode to move those games at the same resolution/framerate PS4 and X1 do.

Of course not, it's just a way of saying that Nintendo does a solid work developping games that have high solid fps, while others devs just care about shiny-shiny not caring a lot about fps. Of course both PS4/X1 being more powerfull can achieve better fps for the same game than WiiU. He was implying the difference in the devs phylosophy! :)

"These days it sometimes feels as if developers are focusing so heavily on cramming each game full of features that they ultimately lose sight of what's most important - the core gameplay."

This. So much "this" and more and more "this".

There is nothing more important and the games market is getting worse for ignoring it.

I dont care about polygon count, i dont care about amazing AI on every useless peon, i dont care about "cinematic". Give me silky smooth gameplay. If your game is fun to play, nothing else matters.

Because we al know how fun a game like Ryse or Battlefield 4 are!

That's a matter of tastes. I wouldn't touch Captain Toad even with a stick.

At least Captain Toad was glitch/bug free when it launched. Ryse is barely playable as is and I heard a lot of bad things about BF4. This is what people mean with "Wii U can do 60fps while PS4/XBOXONE can't". Nobody in his right mind is implying that the Wii U is a stronger console. It's that Nintendo has a different philosophy than the rest of the gaming industry. No surprise that Nintendo is the oldest still active game developer (that is of any relevance, so don't bother coming of with obscure examples).

Obviously I want better graphics as well, but not at the cost of my gameplay experience.

It's not as easy as Console + Marketing = sales, people who quoted me. Your console also has to by appealing. Something the Wii U isn't to many people. We could blame that on a variety of factors as well.

Love Nintendo, still among the best TV toy makers after all these years.

Look at Atari, SEGA, & Activision. Are they still as good as they used to be?

Sega is still as good as ever.

Stealth trolling :p.

You nearly had me there, xD.

Damn black bars evade my line of sight almost every time....

I'm pretty sure Atari is older, still relevant and releasing game... Sierra is back as well...

But if you want to say console maker, sony and MS can't go back in time to release earlier and Sega failed more because of other reasons, not because of glitches.

There is no need to parade on high horses. But why are people still talking about things not related to Captain Toad and if it is worth a play or not?

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=9008994

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Interesting note: in some levels the gamepad screen decouples from the main screen while still maintaining 60fps.

The gamepad renders at 854x480 (409,920 pixels) which when added to the main screen (1280x720, or 921,600 pixels) gives us a total of 1,331,520 pixels, which is just shy of 900p/60fps.

Even though it's expected, I'm still disappointed this turned into a typical PS4 Xbox One vs Wii U comment section, with like 2 comments about Captain Toad.

They can't stand seeing someone being positive about Nintendo's work. They always have to come and fill threads with their negativity.

Game looks beautiful, and that conclusion is very powerful. AAA developers were not at their best this year, their products created awful trends... Such a pitty, they can and have done much better.

Going through the article and comments shots were fired at Sony and MS first, just saying.

I don't think so, everyone is just making silly jokes like "Wii U haz more gmaez that run at 60 frames than Xbone and PS4", yet they don't consider other factors, like the fact that those two consoles are more powerful than Wii U, so obviously they are jokes, it's people just trolling and making fun of the situation.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
