Allow me to repost this exquisite comment made on the Eurogamer thread:

"We only have to look at The Crew, Assassins Creed: Unity and Halo the Master Chief Collection to know that this year publishers have really been pushing their luck when it comes to releasing games that are a little bit broken"

Let's have a look then:

The Crew: 8/10 Eurogamer:

"No game has mined that cultural seam quite so authentically or with such all-encompassing ambition. It's a game that requires and occasionally enforces patience, but like all great road trips it's about the journey, not the destination."
Assassin's Creed Unity: 7/10 Eurogamer:

"As it is, mild improvements in traversal and combat are quickly overwhelmed by the creaking systems onto which they have been grafted. Revolutionary Paris is one of the most beautifully realised environments in a series that has had its fair share of them, but the game you play doesn't really do it justice."

Yes, this was a SEVEN.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection: 9/10 Eurogamer:

"The Collection is an instantaneous embrace of past and present that combines gaming's powerful sense of nostalgia with its perpetual arms race of processing and graphical power. It is part of a growing appreciation of the past in a medium which until recently was resolutely forward-looking. Proust would bloody love it."

Those publishers must be quaking in their boots, I mean, yes, I know this is how the world works but sometimes the hypocrisy can grow quite tiring.

Tldr: They might as well release it now for a 7/10, maybe pushing an 8/10. 6/10 at the worst if Eurogamer is out to prove a point, whatever that may be.

A game whose online doesn't even work get a 9/10? Well there goes any credibility Eurogamer had.

Not only that, but the guy in the article says it's time for games like the Crew, AC Unity, and MCC to stop releasing with so many bugs and online releases. We then see what review scores they gave to those games and come to the conclusion that Eurogamer doesn't even give a shit about bugs and online connectivity issues. They just like throwing out 8's and 9's at the highest bidder it seems.

Logic ? What logic, I'm talking about their tradition, history. They are pro MS.

That if they don't give the score you agree with , then they are anti sony? You cannot expect all reviewers to share teh same tase as you ro other gamers on  sony platform, MS platform and even nintendon platform.  There will always be people who prefer xbox games more, nintendo games more or even sony games more. Also every game is reviewed by someone else, therefore the scores will be  different and the way they reviewe will also be differerent. They have given lots of good scores for sony games as welll. Just taht this generation the games to them is not that great . nothing wrong with that .

I'll try to find the thread but I believe that a while back (several years) someone did a metascore of eurogamer scores and there was like a persistent 20 point difference between ps3 and 360 games. And was always above the metacritic average on 360 and below on ps3.

ie: if the metacritic of a 360 game was 80, i believe they would give a 86-91. The calculations showed consistent 5-10 point above average scores.
and if the ps3 game was 80, the calculations showed an 20~ ish point under rating.

I guess until I find the thead though, this is all heresay, but it was done using calculations from the top 50 games and review score vs meta. Basically a trend of rating 360 games 30 points higher. However, games that tended to be reviewed by mainland europe would rate the ps games better, while uk would rate badly.

Kudos to that person for having the patience in doing that for us lol. Don't forget the ps3 game especially multiplats , was worse technically then xbx 360 counterparts. As a result, it would get a lower score. Didn't ps3 also have more games overall?  I do remember alot o the ones were pretty bad and mediocre and as a result got a lowere score. That could explain the difference. I do remember eurogamer giving all the unchartered games high scores. they loved he gamePeople thinking its a conspiracy against sony are truly nuts. it just happens that the person reviewing wasn't imporessed about the game. hes not paid to give a scorethat fans of the platform right?

I'm not gonna fall for this opinion crap all the time. It is an opinion if it happens once, twice, thrice, but if it happens all the time and only with Sony games it IS bias against Sony and their games. They aren't a worthy site atleast when it comes to their "opinions" on Sony games.

Do you even understand what game reviewes are? They are subjective not objective. Big difference . its based on that person experience with that game which will be different to your difference with the game.  Just because you love it, doesn't mean they should and give a score , entirely based on that . Did you ever think , that the games this generation for them , is not up to their taste? Thats nothing wrong with that as well. I really don't udnerstand how gamers on any platform don't understnd this very concept. Its really mind blasting!,  Also noticed it happens more with gamers on sony platform.  I for on e never trust teh reviews because i have played games which i liek , that  was considered to be horrible with teh reviewers.

You know a good review is one where the reviewer is objective and not subjective to their own interest? Also if the reviewers of Sony games in particular don't like the genre or type of game maybe they should stay away from reviewing the games. The EG Driveclub reviewer apparently wanted an open-world game rather than a track-based racer, so he criticised Driveclub for what it isn't rather than what it is. This doesn't happen with non-Sony games though, so its very much an agenda.

Also you apparently don't know about EG's "opinions" of PS4's first year. Check it out and tell me how its writing style doesn't indicate hatred towards PS4.

that will never happen and no review are truly objective . They are all subjective instead. It seems as though gamers on sony platform expect all sony exclusives to have a score  of 8 or 9 and anything below that is anti sony or a heresy. he also commented on teh drving and the AI not being good as well.  The person who reviwed driveclub and the crew is fan of the racing genre , therefore its logical for him to review a racing game such as  drive club and teh crew. It would be more subjective to have some who is  ahuggge fan of evolution studio to review driveclub instead. In fact the reviewers favorite game of 2013 was gran turismo  and thats a ps3 game and a close ciruit racer , not open world racer. He even likes grid 2 the game as well , which is  definetly nnot open world.  Based on taht he wasn't impressed  with drive club . he liek the crew because it ws liek aking roadtrip around a merica which even i would find that awesome to play.

i have read it and was wrong with it. he was talking about all the events that has h appened in one yeaer and what was said its true especially with psn going down alot. To some extent i do agree with eurogramer preview for ps4's first year.  For me ps4 has been disappointing. apart from killzone , knack, ISS and the last of us   there hasn't been anythign great since then. Out that list the last of us for me is only great game followed by ISS. the other two ar epretty mediocre. i even had to buy third party games , just so that my ps4 can get some love , instead of collecting dust.  Guess liek ollie from eurogamer, he was looking for more AAA instead of tonnes of indies and third party games. Having that opinion is fine as well and not anti sony

if you like what you've seen so far, go for it. if not, don't. simple as that. if you need someone else, especially someone on the internet you don't know, making the decision for you, you're fucked anyway. the possibility of buying a game you might not like is the least of your problems then.

@cone, you were hottier as a dog, your human form isn't that much sexier. I hope that don't count as mod criticizing :)

Hmm...I guess that will be acceptable. This time!

But I'll take it as a backhanded compliment anyway. So thanks.

Well to be fair, it's pretty well known that you won't really see any must have games within the first year of any new console. Maybe 1-2 if you're lucky. PS3 had 0 for like 2 years. 360 had almost nothing as well..wii? nothing until smash. WiiU...don't even go there. I mean, not even 3ds or vita really had anything that great.

Anyone who says this game is being hyped at all is delusional. Game has only gotten very bad press. So, who's hyping it?
