The dungeons were easy and fun. The gimmick (wall painting) is the most creative thing to ever come out the Zelda franchise. If Aunuma (what's his name) thought of that, he should stay! :p

There was also plenty of exploration in that game. I just felt very smart when I found the red tunic and the master ore in that Dark Temple (I think it was that one). Maiamai >>>>>>>>>>>>> Skulltullas (which I never bothered finding)

I didn't really mind the wall painting parts, because most of those just expanded on the ways you could explore. I hope that the things you find in dungeons are more things like that. Upgrades instead of weapons. I also agree with the Maiamai. I hate the Skulltullas, but love the Maiamai quest. I also hope they don't bring back wallet upgrades and wish they kept stamina for item usage.

Enough BIG EMPTY WORLDS. Zelda is ripe for sidequests and there is emphasis on exploration. So ffs if you're going to make the world the size of a continent you damn well better make it like Red Dead Redemption or something.

I'd rather no hero mode at all and that they just scale the main game so that the last few dungeons *feel* like they're on hero mode.

Or, you know, have difficulty options from the begining; normal and hard or something.

I agree with all that, sadly there is ammo in Zelda U. The trailer at VGA had 100 arrows for the bow.

But wallet upgrades suck hard... Can't think of another game that does this. Cause it sucks HARD!

Yeah, I was pretty bummed when I saw that. The stamina system worked perfectly in ALBW, and this is coming from someone who loathes the stamina system in SS.

I've never played RDR. How did they handle their open world? I actually loved how WW handled it's open world, with a lot of tiny things to do and explore while you went to your new objective.

I think we can both agee SS was one of the worst Zelda games ever made. :p

(excluding cd-i)

I don't even know how you spend 5 years developing such an ugly game with so much linearity and such a small world.

You rode the horse a lot but the travels didn't seem long or boring, thanks to great music and the mini missons that popped up.  When you would ride you'd sometimes be chased by a gang, see a woman begging for help near a toppled over wagon, only to discover she's being held at gunpoint to disguise an ambush, strangers challenging you to duels or hunting competitons, etc.  You could hunt bird or deer or whatever you wanted really and sometimes get attacked by cougars(which is a even more exciting than it sounds).  Bears to hunt which is awesome, buffolo, helping strangers... I could go on.  There was rarely a dull moment in RDR.

I'd rather be tested on my intellect than my reflexes. Puzzles need to stay, they just need a breath of fresh air. And that's what ALBW provided.

ALBW is my favorite 2D Zelda, and it's dungeons were the worst part. The puzzles don't test your intellect. They try and trick you into feeling smart. They need to go, or be completely separate and optional from the dungeons. Working your way through a labyrinth is testing your intellect, far more effectively than any modern Zelda does.

Wow, did you really just say that? You do realise that puzzles are one of the main ways to train your brain and test IQ, right? I don't see why we can't have both.

The thing that sucks is that SS had so many great ideas. I loved exploring the areas in that game. The problem was that they were so segmented and there were so few of them and they repeated them over and over again. I loved the way item upgrades were done in that game, though I like the system in ALBW better as it wasn't as tedious. I loved Koloktos. Best boss fight in Zelda and the one thing that Zelda has above Dark Souls bosses, in that you could use the enemies own weapon viciously against them.

They just screwed up so much. I actually liked SS's artstyle more than most other Zelda games. The ugliest Zelda game by far is TP.

Nah, TP was ok for its time. But there are better looking GC games than SS. Although the final boss battle looked very good for some reason (looked, not played).

I never finished SS, so I don't know what boss you're talking about lol. I hate those silent realms, they aggrevate my anxiety disorder. ;(
