That doesn't make sense... win at what cost? And when do you think it really counts to win? when everyone is on a buying renzy, or when sales are supposed to be at their lowest.

This whole winning when it counts (suggesting that when it counts is in nov-dec) is just internet chatter. Its not what really matters. Here is a scenario...

If sony manages to make a 1M lead over 10 months, then loses 600k of that lead in two months, that brings their lead down to 400k. They are still in the lead. Then say they go on to add another 1M lead over the next 10 months and stretches their overall lead to 1.4M, then lose another 600k next year... guess what, they still have a lead of 800k. And whats important is that that lead is growing. And this is in the one territory where the XB1 has a fighting chance.

I will keep saying this every chance i get, the only time sony needs to be worried is if the XB1 starts taking every single month in NA. even if its by 10k units. But if come january sony goes right back to outselling the XB1. Then nothing has really changed.

It took a lot of factor for x1 to win once, many of them no longer are valid.


PS4 has no momentum going into December. Xbox One is the hot console in the US this holiday. You're going to have to deal with that.

Or you should deal with the fact PS4 out sold it 10 times out of 11, and wrap your mind around what it actually took for the  X1 to out sale it for a single month.  X1 is doing great but it took a sale that looks like a stock dump to do it.  Dont be blind to the facts, sales like his dont last long.  This thing will drop back to doom levels in janauary and it has not a single exclusive to raise it from the near dead for half a year.

Yeah it means nothing when you can't win worldwide. The PS4 is the fastest selling console of all time worldwide. Microsoft won one month so far and stop acting like the PS4 sold nothing. Do you realise what Microsoft had to do to win November? It was a desperation move that paid off and ye are acting like the Xbox one won worldwide.

Thanks for being the 1001st person bringing up WW in an NPD thread.  It shows how mad you really are.

Before it was "Xbox needs to be less than PS4 because its less powerful" 

Now its "MS is so desperate they need Xbox to be less than PS4" 

Notice that this isn't 7-10k difference. This is a statement showing that PS4 isn't this unstoppable machine that can win 50 NPDs in a row.

It should win by 200-300k. There isn't a good bundle announced for ps4 as far as I'm concerned.

This statement is 100% true and this month proved it. They had to slash the price, heavily the bundle the console with at least 2 games and include Xbox live gold 1 year in the box just to win by 400k in the US. NPD is just a small piece of the puzzle where PS4 is wiping the floor with the competition.

The Xbox One simply cannot compete with the PS4 at the same price point. If one month NPD is all you have then I have nothing else to say to you.

Price is 99 % the reason one console sells more than another they say.

When two consoles are similar, yes. If the console is getting no 3rd party support and is marketed towards children the price has to be like $149-$199 to compete
