How did they mes up when they sold more 10 months straight and MS had to drop the price twice,get rid of Kinect and do tons of bundles? If the 1.2m figure is legit to you then you believe PS4 sold 800k. Math came out to PS4+X1 coming out to close to 2.09 after NPD released that they are close to 80% higher than their 7th gen counterparts in the same amount of time. So 1.2+800k falls right in that math.

The 1.24m figure is legit (by MS), and NPD have said this gen is near 80% over last gen in same period. Which means highest PS4 could be is like 850k.

It took a lot of factor for x1 to win once, many of them no longer are valid.

I see it as a failure to capitalize on their situation. Sony said in post E3 interviews last year they were ready to launch at $349.99 if MS had announced a $399.99 price point. They should have called MS on this price point and never let them get any momentum.

I said it as soon as MS announced this price point. Sony has to react, because Americans buy based on the dollar, not the value. This is why they won the PS2 era the way they did. You have to be ruthless when you have momentum, and are on top of the mountain. Now they have let MS rebuild, and gain momentum. No matter how much it is, it is steam taken away from the PS4 train.

In the end all sales matter. Whether it is 1:1 or 5:1 you never let off the gas. This is not a football game where you respect the other team, and run the clock down. America, Japan, Asia, EU they all matter. It is not about the overall picture, it is about complete domination. 

PS4 has no momentum going into December. Xbox One is the hot console in the US this holiday. You're going to have to deal with that.
