Sure, blame the "tastes" of gamers for the Wii U's poor sales. Those dumb gamers always wanting the next CoD, AC, Madden, FIFA, Final Fantasy, etc... why don't they wise up and support the console with such innovative and original titles as: New Super Mario Bros U, Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros 4, Nintendo Mini Game Collection Land, Pikmin 3, Wii Party U, Wii Fit U, DKC 5, Dynasty Warriors 5000: Hyrule Edition, Mario 3D World Mini Game Collection Starring Toad, The Legend Of Zelda: Skyrim, ect. I'll give you the rare non-Nintendo exclusive titles like Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2... but then you also have "amazing" exclusives like Zombi U and Sonic Boom to go with them on the console. If you want to talk about gamers with bad tastes, then look no further than the average Nintendo gamers of today, because all they buy is the latest Nintendo rehashes and nothing else... http://www.vgchartz.com/platform/47/wii-u/ Bayonetta 2, arguable one of if not THE best games of the year, can't even crack half a million on the console after nearly 2 months on the market, when it would have done easly double that on BOTH the PS4 and X1 each, had it been a multiplatform title instead. So there goes the argument that PS and XB gamers have bad tastes. |
Oh yeah, Nintendo fans has terrible tastes, that´s why games like Donkey Kong (84), Mario Kart 8 (88), New super mario bros U (84), Smash Brosh (92), Wind Waker HD (90), Mario 3d world (93) are in the top 10 best sellers of the console... we bought that because they are good and Nintendo is very reliable.
Now take a look at the ps4 top 10 and you only see Call of duty 9, Call of duty 10, Fifa 14, Fifa 15, Destiny (76... 400 millons behind...), watchdogs (74) (that´s 2 of the biggest let downs of the year) and ports from games of the last year, Oh yeah, Nintendo and his mindless fanboys...

What? No they didn't.
I think a lot of people keep comparing it to Xbox One and Kinect. They figure if Microsoft can do away with the Kinect then Nintendo should be able to do away with the Gamepad. The problem is that comparison is very flawed. First of all, Xbox One was never designed with end to end integration with Kinect. Microsoft wanted everyone to think it was by requiring it but it really wasn't. Xbox One in it's current form would have come to be even if there was no Kinect. With Wii U, that entire system was designed around that Gamepad. It's not something that could simply be removed from the equation after it's release. The Wii U would have been something completely different had there never been a Gamepad.
People talk about patches and updates, but does anyone have an idea of how truly insane that is? We're not just talking about an entire overhaul of the system's UI. Think about how many games would need updates. Think of how many games publishers wouldn't even bother with. At this time, a $200 Wii U with no Gamepad would have little to no value since most of it's games would be incompatible. Even worse, look at a lot of next year's games. Zelda would be incompatible. Star Fox would be incompatible. So there could never be a Gamepad-less Wii U. It's a matter of something that should or shouldn't be done. There should be a Gamepad or there never should have been one. it can't be both.

I'll wait for E3 2015..... I do think it's a possibility that Nintendo would fund another game and hire Platinum games. Especially to make a franchise game.

I don't want to blow that out of porportion, but WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
"I don't know how much I can say. I can't reveal anything. But let me just say you can definitely look forward to what is coming." - Nintendo Producer Hitoshi Yamagami.
That was in reference to Platinum games, and this guy is in charge of games "Nintendo typically doesn't do." He was a key player in the success of Xenoblade Chronicles.
I'm crossing my fingers for a Platinum made Star Fox that will never happen.
