Success. They're just pieces of plastic sold at (likely) fairly high profit margins with minimal fuss.

Smash + Pokemon software sales + Amiibo are Nintendo's bright spots this holiday.

Of course its a success. It was obvious it would sell a lot although I'd like to know how other toys sold in November. That would give us an idea of how well Amibo's are doing.
