Forums - Sony - What NEEDS to be added in Uncharted 4 before release!

What they have shown us is a natural progression to the combat system and to the level design. We now have more gameplay options when fighting enemies, you can use the environment more and switch between stealth and open combat rapidly. Scripted moments are more frequent and far more complex. The level design feeds into this, with a more intricate and detailed design- multiple routes and more traversal gameplay options- the player has more control.

This was an important evolution that the series needed.

Side quests or anything really that distracts from the main story is not important in my opinion. I don't want an open world game with exploration, it's not needed and doesn't fit the very controlled and polished style of cinematic gameplay in Uncharted . As for weapon enhancements or RPG elements, they would completely change the franchise gameplay by allowing you to carry around an armory rather then scavenge what you can and strategise on the best weapon for a particular scenario.

I agree on the wildlife part. There should be more wildlife.

I completetly.

Would not like an upgrade system I like Uncharted to feel more improvisational than progressive.  Also are you forgetting petting the Yaks in Uncharted 2!?  Seriously though the other ones all sound great though the stealth they showed is cool for me.

Which one? Do you mean the character enhancement system or the weapon upgrade nhancement system? Or maybe you mean both?

About the yaks in Uncharted 2.. yea i forgot about those and I just now remembered the wolfs in that ice cave in Uncharted 2 but I just want to be able to shoot them lol. That's all I want. Just let me be able to shoot them. I would prefer for them to add some type of small meat system where you can collect meat. Like if I killed a fish, I would be able to pick it up and store it for later use.. maybe use the meat to trade to other dpecific people on the island but maybe they could save all that for Uncharted 5 =P.

Just let me have the ability to shoot and kill the wildlife lol

both upgrade systems I wouldn't like.  I just like cinematic stuff in Uncharted.  I want to jump in at any point and be able to play the sequences.  Upgrades kinda makes it more technical.

But you would be able to jump in with or without enhancing Drakes skills. For example, lets say that Drakes "power" can be upgraded 4 times before maxing out throughout the game. Each level would take like 2 less punches for you to throw at an enemy before killing him. So if you were fighting a big strong enemy bare-fisted, it would takr an unleveled level 1 powered Drake about 15 hits without using a weapon. On the other hand, a max leveled level 5 Drake would take him out in about 7.

Also, you wouldn't like to have the optiin to upgrade your guns clip ammo, recoil, fire rate, etc? I mean you could still beat the game without enhancing anything, it would just make it harder. And like in The Last Of Us, I would like to get rewarded if I decided to search specific areas.

I don't know if you played it or not but there was always a chance of you finding weapon parts(for upgrading weapons) and those pills(for enhancing the characters skills) in The Last Of Us. Right now the only thing you can find in Uncharted is those 101 Treasures. The upgrade system will add atleast 2 more additional things for the player to be able to find throughout the environment in Uncharted now.

It also gives ghe player an excuse to want to look around and enjoy the little details in the world Naughty Dog crafted

You wouldn't want that? Ehh.. idk.. I feel like if they did it right, they could make it work for people who dont want yo bother with the enhancements

They need to get rid of drake and replace him with a sexually attractive female. I won't play the game until they do.

Basically, if they made the kinda changes you are talking about, then Uncharted will no longer be uncharted.

(1) id already in uncharted in its own way, with all the secret treasures and what you have to sometimes do to find them offers its own unique take on exploration.

(2) & (3) completely will ruin uncharted. The coolest thing about uncharted is its improvised patched up gameplay approach. At its core the main character of the game doesn't take much seriously, everything about how he moves, fights, runs and all his side smack talk says that about him.

(4) I can understand this one. If nothing else it would add to the immersion of the world. However you are talking like you (we) even know what naughty dog is doing with their level design... uncharted isn't and has never been an open world game. For all we know like classical uncharted fashion regardless of how big that island looks, we most probably would be funnelled through it.

1.) Optional Secrets Tombs!

I can dig that but only if they do a better job than in tomb raider.  those were so small and simple they had no right to exist.  the very nature of an "optional sidequest" gives them opportunity to make something more difficult and involved then you'd put into the main path of the game.  something that really takes some effort to solve.   something more than "turn crank and jump".

2.) Listen/Detect mode!

meh.   i expecte a TLoU 2 so keep the franchises a bit more distinct imo.  uncharted's thing is its verticality and platforming which are ideas i think U4 is exceling at based on that gameplay demo.

3.)Slight RPG Player Enhancement/Weapon Upgrade system!

no.  just no.

4.) Wildlife Interaction!
what a strange thing to ask for.

5. chloe

6. story line drop in co-op

i did enjoy the co-op multiplayer campain missions but i always prefer co-op to not co-op.  i don't care if it "breaks the story".   just let me have a friend drop into my game at any point and help me shoot shit.  that's all i ever want in any game.

1.) COMPLETELY Agreed! They should be well hidden, bigger and more challenging. They should make like 10 challenging "Uncharted Treasure Caves" spread throughout the island and make them either well hidden or hard to get to. I would look at them as like a trial kinda thing. And if a player is smart enough to get through the select puzzles and traps, there could maybe be a big ass Bear, Lion, Anaconda, Gorilla or something waiting in some of them.

2.) It's already in Uncharted 4. If you look at the gameplay where Drake 1st wncounters the other people, you can see the little white light near the top of the screen showing that there is an enemy right near him. I dont know exacrly how it works for this game but it's definitely here.

3.) Why not? Check this out, let's say there was an enhancement that upgraded Drakes lung capacity. There could be a specific aquatic clear-water spring or pond that you can dive in. When you dive in and see all the fish and aquatic coral type stuff, you see an underwater path that leads to 1 of the Uncharted caves that can only be accessed through this specific "Spring/Pond. Here's the catch, the only way you would be able to reach the other side where the Uncharted cave is located would be to have upgraded your lung capacity to max otherwise you would die trying to reach the cave being that Drake wouldn't be able to hold his breath long enough to reach it.

4.) Yes it is a strange request but the real question is would you personally welcome it?

5.) Lol!

6.) Yea, thst would be nice too.

Remove water for better IGN reviews

Sounds like you just Uncharted to a male copy of TR.

I would welcome a weapon upgrade system. I can do without the tombs and listen mode just seems kinda tacky, hoping off TLoU. Wildlife interaction is just meh.

I completely disagree

Leave Uncharted as it is. Some more interesting traversal mechanics could be added, as shown in the trailer, but don't add in RPG elements!

Uncharted is a hollywood blockbuster. It's not about exploration, it's about excitement! Slightly more open levels where you have more options on how to approach fights could help, as well as the more tightly scripted sequences like the TRAIN!!!!

So yeah, let Tomb Raider be it's own thing. Remember this is a series which has sold very well and reviewed very well. In my opinion Uncharted 2 is the single greatest game of all time. Don't mess with it, just tweak it

Edit: I would agree on RPG elements/crafting and Tombs to explore only if Nathan Drake could craft a saddle, strap it to a hog, and you could explore the caves jumping around on said hog, crash bandicoot style.

I don't want Uncharted to be open world either. The Uncharted Caves could be the very thing that adds the right amount of "exploration" it needs. There were specific places in Uncharted 2 and 3 that could've had spots that deviated off of the main path leading to a little secret area.

The weapon thing is the hardest thing they would have to get around. I still cant hardly think of a 100% way they could pull this off without it taking away from that classic Uncharted feel. But that same strategy could still be present with upgradable weapons. I personally wouldn't want drake to start carrying around a back pack so maybe they could add some way he could swap his weapons out. I dont know..

Also the crafting thing would need to stay off limits. That would be the one thing that stays eunique to The Last Of Us. And while they're at it, they should add a dingo-croc thing in the game that resembles dingodile from Crash. There could also be a crazy blue kangaroo(ripparoo) somewhere or 2 Kimodo Dragons that resemble the Kimodo bros. Hmm.. they might aswell go on ahead and add a place where you find a den of Bandicoots that has 1 mysterious orange one that looks like Crash and maybe have a teaser that secretly tells us that they have infact re-acquired Crash from Activision and will be releasing the REAL Crash Bsndicoot 4 in 2016

honestly the improvements i've seen pretty much have me satisfied as is

the expanded stealth options look pretty tight i was actually reminded of metal gear a few times

but yeah your ideas sound good although at this point i mostly want to see what they've done with the multiplayer

i usually beat the game on hard then crushing and then i play online mostly
