Yes, well that was Gamecube, the worst selling console of its generation, and worst selling Nintendo console ever, at least until Wii U. And not the console where RE's biggest fanbase resided. Whereas this is PS4 the best selling console of the generation and where most of the SF fanbase is. When the game is already on the platforms that will see 80% of potential sales the drive for that last 20% isn't as big as a situation where 60% of the potential sales of a game are on a platform that doesn't have the game.

Doesn't mean Capcom won't end up going for that 20%. Just that the incentive to find a way to break exclusivity is not that great.

I think when MS are looking at making deals, they are going after big franchise names, rather than worrying about competition for their own franchises.  They bought Tomb Raider after all, even though they already have one of the best third person shooting franchises in existence

They do have Gears, a 3rd person cover shooter, but they don't have a 3rd person adventure game.

While I would consider them very similar, I understand how you could look at them differently.  I do still think that just because MS have Killer Instinct, it wouldn't stop them from investing in another big fighting game franchise should they get the chance to do so.

I think it would stop them. Especially one that has as many loopholes as SF.

I agree with this.  I just think it was a smart move on Sony's part.  Capcom mentioned at one point that they couldnt afford to do Street Fighter V and maybe sony approached them and said they would fund it. Its a big franchise so why wouldnt they.  I personally believe anybody who offered funding for it could have got it.  Capcom is in a bad spot so theyre going to accept help if somebody gives them an offer

I think that'd only make it up for a handful of Xbox fans, if any at all. If you're into japanese games then only owning an X1 seems like the worst thing you could do.

Well, take the ps2 scenario where it had so many quality exclusives that the consumers bought 150m consoles, which then brought every single game to ps2. In a world where ps4 dominates even better than that (already selling above curve than ps2 and wii) soon, all you'll need is a ps4 (and a wiiU, since those games will never come to ps4, and x1 type of games are already very similar to the ones available on ps4)
