How exactly is japan not worthy enough for xbox 1s. Deserve something you say when someone is to low for soemthing. "Timmy doesnt deserve presents" "Peasents deserve to starve." It implys Japan has done something wrong or are to low to get something so great as xboxs. When with how they are supporting it over there. Its the other way around.

Yeah, I'll stick with what I said.  This isnt personal ffs, its business.  The Japanese market doesnt deserve support from MS.

They tried quite hard with the 360 early on, it made little or no difference.

Ok and they tried pretty hard with the original xbox maybe they should have just given up after that gen ended. The way you stated it it comes off personal fyi.

Considering that support for home consoles is at an all time low, the Xbox never did well in Japan and third parties are not porting to the Japanese version. I am really not surprised that numbers are that low.

No it doesnt, you are being too sensitive.  This is a discussion about a product, its marketshare in a region and the business sense of that. It couldnt be less personal.

...and yes they tried hard with the 360 too early on.  They tried hard twice, didnt work... ditch them I say.

No im not. I have zero care about japan. Its very poor word to use. Furthermore you havent discussed anything on buisness or anything. You only stated they dont deserve xbox ones and they tried once. Thats not really a discussion.

Simple, Japanese people buy Japanese brands' products.

How this lie has survived, I will never know. You might want to inform Apple or McDonalds about this. Their great sales and market presence haven't caught wind of it yet.

40k is definately a waste of resources unless they have something massive planned. Japan just isn't a place for the home console anymore, and it was never the place for Microsofts systems to begin with but also the X1's size has to be working against it in a country that loves tiny tech.

XOne is big, bulky and ugly for the taste of an average Japanese, and there are few games which appeal to them;  It's not a japanese product, ---> Fail

It doesn't appeal to the Japanese in the slightest. Japan should just drop XB1 because MS don't deserve their money

Deserve support? Wtf. Japan doesnt deserve support!? Kinda fucked up to say tbh.

Ot. They arnt trying and i get that on some level. Mobile sentric country. Not crazy size. America is the biggest cash cow so thats where they try to put the majority of their focus. However i dont know why you dont do a little something. No risk no reward kinda thing.

No it doesnt.... and what is fucked up about saying that?  Please explain.

You've got it twisted. Microsoft Xbox doesn't deserve to get sales in Japan. That's buisness. Blaming consumers for its failure in that market is downright pathetic.

Saying consumers don't deserve attention is the same backwards thinking, that goes with thanking a company and being humbled by it, absolutely disgusting.

Whether or not MS Xbox should cut their losses is a debatable topic, and considering MS assets, i personally believe they aren't even trying that hard; unless ofc xb1 was 300$ or less in Japan.

In this day and age, with the Internet, ignorance is a choice! And they're still choosing Ignorance! - Dr. Filthy Frank

Microsoft made a decision to focus where they we strong (US and UK) and not concern themselves where they were weak (JP being among the weakest).

To Microsoft ensuring relevance in US and UK are main priorities. That was threatened to start this generation so they pushed hard this year to not let it slip away. They ran big sales and pushed major titles with marketing efforts in 2014 (Titanfall and Sunset Overdrive come to mind).

If Microsoft can position itself as clear winner in those two markets, then it makes a push for EU, then ROW, then JP. After all, they would view potential of gaining a million consoles sales much less valuable than possibility of losing 30 million sales in NA and EU.

Cannot say I blame them or the Japanese gaming community showing such indifference to the X1. I wonder how long it will take it to get to 100K? 2016?

I love people saying it is doing okay, Just because it is closely beating the Wii U doesn't make it good. Infact everything but the 3DS is doing badly and relatively to the DS. 3DS is also doing badly.

This is the reality of what's happening in Japan. No more hiding behind, "Well, it's doing better than x so therefore y is fine!"
