Please show me a Zelda U pic with the level of emptiness of the above Wind Waker pic.

Field, some trees, stuff off in the distance. What kind of intense gameplay experience are you expecting to have here rather than in the Great Sea?

Oh, and don't worry, I get it, you can get off Epona and run around. But what exactly do you expect to be able to do? Just like the island is off in the distance in your WW pic, there's also nothing interesting to do here. Do you see now?

Hey mr assumptions, stop with the assumptions.

They are observations, not assumptions.

It's not empty for miles like WW though. There's what look like ruins ahead, and if it's where I think it is in the vid, the wild horses are around the corner.

It's a bridge, not ruins. That whole area is the area next to the "dungeon" featured in Zelda U. It's the equivilant of Link being in the boat right next to Dragon Roost. Of course it would be more populated then the middle of the ocean, or the middle of the forest in the picture I already showed from Zelda U, in which it really was empty aside from the trees.

Right and in WW there were seagulls and rupee barrells and exploding barrells and subs and and and...

The point we're trying to make here is that the field and the Great Sea are functionally similar within their respective games. The things you just listed and the things I just listed are small flourishes to each area. But the Sea and the field are just two typed of terrain you're going to need to traverse to get to your "island" or whatever points of interest there will be in the new game. That is the point we're making.

Except that the gaps between islands/mountains/rivers/buildings/other features appear much smaller and hence less patience-testing to traverse in Zelda U.

Well you're certainly adding to the discussion.

There was a lake or something next to it in the vid though.

I suppose ultimately, I would refute the thread title because I deeply dislike Wind Waker, yet I love what I've seen of Zelda U so far.

That's very possible. I doubt the distances between points of interest in this game and how large the distances were between islands in WW will be the same.

I'm sure KORL could cover much larger distances than Epona could.
