Forums - Sony - I'm convinced it's impossible to deliver impressive graphics today

They're right though. The game is nothing special and it's amazing anyone thinks it is. At this point I feel as if it is a Naughty Dog effect. The moment they release a game it is met with graphical praise. Regardless if it actually deserves it or not.

Take a look at this GAF thread:

See how a bunch of people complain the game doesn't look impressive. Not gameplay mind you, that's arguably subjective. No, apparently, the game's graphics are "just ok", and "looks like a PS3 remaster". Some people even spotted framerate drops to below 30. They're able to notice framerate drops of a game being displayed through a highly compressed stream, but nevermind that.

After this, I'm done. I'm fully convinced no game ever released will ever impress these people (which are just snobs the way I see it).

It's not that games have bad graphics when peopel bitch, its that most of the time the said game was shown with MUCH BETTER graphics when first unveiled.

uncharted 4 is no exception.  It's trailer at E3 last year was a lot better than what the gameplay we saw of the game.

So blame developers for their need to show cutscenes instead of gameplay when first showing game.

Don't call everyone trolls, because if you saw what I saw at E3, you would be disappointed with the graphics showed today. For as much as people hype up ND, I expected more. If you want to be upset about something be upset people are already looking at the graphics from a game still a way out from release.

People are just bitching. The graphics are in a totally new level, and the gameplay is so much more fluid that it is incomparable to uc3.

Show me the downgrade. I'll wait

after watching the video i have to say thats quiet a massive downgrade from the initial reveal. The graphisc shown there is good but now where near that quality they shown at the intital reveal. Worse part of it , they claim that th einitial reveal for the graphics were graphics runninng in real time. Guess they lied. At least teh game will be fun to play and still look pretty

@riderz, compared to what was shown at teh initial trailer, thats stilla downgrade to that video. ND claim it was real time graphics , including the environment. The environmetn in this gameplay trailer loosk no where close to that initial reveal. Plus that screen is cutscene not when you control.

It's disappointing seeing as how this is naughty dog(basically the best in the industry for optimization) and the ps4(the strongest console). Just shows how disappointing this generations power is j guess

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

The asset quality looks damn near identical to me, with exception to the time of day and the fact he isn't wet/covered in dirt :p

Of course the gameplay itself won't directly match the cutscenes. Even though the cutscenes are running in real time, they still have the advantage of proper directing and being able to utilize very close up LODs, which are what tend to impress people most these days (since they're a relatively new areas of graphics).

@zekkyou -- don't get me wrong, the graphics are beautiful but ND promised us from the initian reveal that those graphis were graphics running in rela time and that that was a captured from level on the ps4. The ones revealed so far, doesn't even come close to that initial reveal. Even nathan drakes face from that pic you loaded to the one shown at the gameplay reveal, that alone shows quite a bit of downgrade.
