even though Street Fighter is a bigger deal, im more hyped for Tekken 7

Me too, I personally prefer 3D fighters over 2D fighters. But I prefer DB: Xenoverse over all of them

yeah!, i also prefer 3D fighters over 2D fighters, thats part off the reason why i like DOA.

All of them except Soul Calibur V were either disappointing or terrible while SSF IV AE cannot be considered a new game.

That's your opinion.
And you have no way of knowing if SFV, T7, MKX, or DB will be disappointing as well, so that's a moot point anyway.

That's why I said 2015 COULD be the best year in fighting game history. But I guess people these days don't carefully read the little words that can change the meaning of a sentence.

I hope Square Enix will release a new Disidia Final fantasy for PS4, or Cyber Connect release a new current gen Naruto with cell shaded graphic close to anime.

2015 should have lots of fighting games.

let's hope they all will offer enough new things

to be interesting.

Oh I read it. But with that reasoning, 2016 COULD be the best year for fighting games with one single fighting game coming out called Dragonball (Insert title). You never know. I went with a ggigantic list of games that has something that appeals to everyone, rather than a very small list that could appeal to some.

Though regarding Street Fighter and Tekken, Tekken Tag 2 took a full year to go from Arcade to console. And Tekken 6 took two years.
Following that pattern, it's very possible that we won't see Tekken 7 on console next year, since it won't hit the arcades until February.

Street Fighter IV took 7 months to go from Arcade to console. However, we've barely seen anything from the game, let alone heard about an arcade release date, so I wouldn't be too optimistic about it coming out on console next year either.

So then you're left with Mortal Combat X and Dragonball = Best year ever?

Like some mentioned in this thread, it doesn't seem like young people today know what a good year in fighting games was like back in the day when we got sequels for pretty much every game every single year, if you think those 4 games in 2015 (which may very well just be 2 games) means best year ever.  I mentioned 2012 since it's relatable to everyone. But I can mention a lot better years than that if we go back a few years.

I'm not exactly as young as you think, I'm 22 and this month I'm turning 23 years old.

But I started gaming in 2009, so I guess you might know better.

Fighting games aren't my thing but the only one on the list I'd get is mortal kombat or soul calibur

Started gaming in general 2009? Not just for fighting games? What made you get into it 'that late', so to speak?
As for fighting games, I started when Street Fighter II came out for SNES around 1992, and around that time, and up to 200...2? I think? Fighting games and their sequels were coming out left and right from tons of developers. But after Street Fighter 3 became a commercial failure (good game, but too difficult for most people) fighting games went into a bit of a dark age, where we barely saw any new fighting games in comparison, and it was pretty much only held up by the Tekken series, until SF4 came out, and things changed again.

Well I can see why you'd consider it the best year for you if you really love those games. It's all about preferences anyway, but that's why I went with a list instead of my personal preferences, since that's different for everyone. One single great game can be a better than 10 mediocre ones, so how are we supposed to determine which one is the best year? That's what I was thinking about, and that's why I posted a list instead. I persnally despise Street Fighter X Tekken for example. But some people liked it, etc.

Howeverm if SF5 and T7 do come out in 2015, it has the potential to be a great year in fighting games for me. I'm not so sure abiut SFV coming out that soon though. We'll see what Capcom announces today at Playstation Experience, or at Capcom Cup next week.

~Edit~
We now saw gameplay footage from SFV!

I got GTA: San Andreas on PC as a gift which blew me away and then I started gaming.

I guess I will be buying ps4 on 2015... how much is a stick for ps4 btw?

I don't know if we'll see SFV this year, because development seems to have started this year.

Also, I think 2012 was waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Persona 4 Arena
Soul Calibut 5
Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition: v2012 (free update)
Dead or Alive 5
BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma
Street Fighter X Tekken
Skullgirls
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale
Mortal Combat: Arcade Collection

And that's not counting the Dragonball or Naruto fighting games.

All of them except Soul Calibur V were either disappointing or terrible while SSF IV AE cannot be considered a new game.

Well considering the Hype/Dissapointment ratio this generation, we should all be wary.

Meh SFxT is the reason Capcom needed Sony's money to develop SFV. That game destroyed their reputation. It had the worst case of on disk DLC that I've ever seen.
