I'm not exactly as young as you think, I'm 22 and this month I'm turning 23 years old.

But I started gaming in 2009, so I guess you might know better.

Started gaming in general 2009? Not just for fighting games? What made you get into it 'that late', so to speak?
As for fighting games, I started when Street Fighter II came out for SNES around 1992, and around that time, and up to 200...2? I think? Fighting games and their sequels were coming out left and right from tons of developers. But after Street Fighter 3 became a commercial failure (good game, but too difficult for most people) fighting games went into a bit of a dark age, where we barely saw any new fighting games in comparison, and it was pretty much only held up by the Tekken series, until SF4 came out, and things changed again.

Well I can see why you'd consider it the best year for you if you really love those games. It's all about preferences anyway, but that's why I went with a list instead of my personal preferences, since that's different for everyone. One single great game can be a better than 10 mediocre ones, so how are we supposed to determine which one is the best year? That's what I was thinking about, and that's why I posted a list instead. I persnally despise Street Fighter X Tekken for example. But some people liked it, etc.

Howeverm if SF5 and T7 do come out in 2015, it has the potential to be a great year in fighting games for me. I'm not so sure abiut SFV coming out that soon though. We'll see what Capcom announces today at Playstation Experience, or at Capcom Cup next week.

~Edit~
We now saw gameplay footage from SFV!

I got GTA: San Andreas on PC as a gift which blew me away and then I started gaming.
