Youngsters. Have no memories of the days when we got Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Virtua Fighter, Samurai Shodown, King of Fighters, Fighter's History, Art of Fighting, World Heroes, Soul Blade, Tekken, Bushido Blade, Eternal Champions, etc. on a monthly basis.

A few sequels in a year and suddenly, it's the best ever.

Never really played BlazeBlue but Guilty Gear is just all around fun. The controls are fluid and the graphics are just beatiful. I think its the best fighting game I have played in years.

Looking forward to DOA6 at some point, but DOA 5 Last Round will do just fine in February.

On the whole, I think fighting games are on the decline in terms of sales and mainstream relevance. Most of my casual gamer friends would buy Tekken or DOA 10-15 years ago, but now those same people just play COD or the occasional FIFA or Madden.

There are probably some other big ones I'm missing but Fighting games were clearly popular on PS3/360, I see no reason why they would all of a sudden stop being big on PS4/XB1. Maybe their not as big as they were back in the 90's but still cleary a major genre.
