I guess because these are the awards for the year 2014, not for 2004...

Honestly it's not that amazing, just like 3 you will like it but wont be blown away.

Well I guess we will be eliminating majority of 2014/2015 games list.

Deserved it!

Well deserved, for Far Cry 4. Great game!

I think Wolfenstein should certainly get an honourable mention though. How they managed to meld old school gameplay with modern storytelling, characterisation, stealth sections and superb level design was nothing short of genius.

If anything, it showed that whilst ID have made some great tech in recent years, their ability as actual game developers has waned (the last game that I thought was actually above average was back in 1999; Quake III Arena). Bethesda should just give the ID IPs to more talented developers as happened in this case.

It's my GOTY so far, so I think it's more than deserved, obviously.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Far Cry 4 is great. I personally would have went with Titanfall, but Far Cry is an excellent choice as well.

I think Far Cry 4 for single-player and Titanfall for multiplayer sounds right.

And Wolfenstein: The New Order for the story.

Easy Far Cry4 for me.  Amazing game, open world, so much fun and freedom. Great engine and graphics.
