Because there's no way for us to understand how real 4d works, not to mention for us to be able to observe it.
This game is much more like a 3d version of Fez. The gameplay is in 2d, but it includes the 3rd dimension as you can spin the world using the power of (I don't remember the name. In this case though, the gameplay is in 3d, but you can "spin" the world to se different 3d images within a 4 dimensional space.

It doesn't look like you can spin the 3D 'plane' within the 4D world, like you spin the 2D plane in 90 degree steps in Fez within the 3 dimensional world.
In the video they only move the 3D 'plane' laterally in 2 directions through the 4D world, that is enough though.
Fez is also different in that it projects everything on top of eachother, instead of showing a 2D slice. This is more like moving between planes in a LBP level. Rotation would be very confusing I would think.
4D rotating objects look pretty cool though
