Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Tekken on Wii U- Why did no one buy it?

Tagged games:

its a good game, and its a good version. THe first game i actually played for WIi U despite already have the PS3 version

Around the Network

For one, it was a late port if memory serves me correct, one of the few really good ones for Wii U but a late port nonetheless.

Secondly, Tekken's star has been in decline for a while, fans of the game will buy it but without any marketing push most of standard gamers didn't care even if it came with a movie tie in. Realistic "3D" fighters were taking a back burner to the "2.5D" fantasy side scrolling fighters at the time thanks to SFIV and MK9.

Lastly, the Wii U had a rough launch and many were already calling it dead in the water for the upcoming future systems later that year. Despite being a quality version of recent game game, most didn't want to gamble on it, especially when it wasn't even that much graphically superior to version available for cheaper on X360 or PS3 which had bigger online audiences.

Didn't know we had Tekken on the Wii U. I knew about Injustice. I'll wait for your thread about cheap 3rd party Wii U games and start making a wishlist

My thread for teaching VGC some Nigerian slangs

I have returned to this thread for my fair share of crow.

I replayed the game this weekend. Indeed, you can exit the practice mode, it's just buried in the menu.

Speaking of menus and the training mode...it's pretty cool that you can see the move you're trying to do. It really helps a lot. I'm not sure if I have the time to invest in this game to truly master the controls...but it's definitely worth the $20 I paid for it and probably full price for hardcore tekken and fighting game fans.

I thought it was a good game and it SUPA cheap on Amazon but I personally think injustice is more fun and that is just as cheap on Amazon (I have Amazon prime so I don't know if that makes a difference for people who don't)
