2.4 million in about a month and a week would be pretty impressive, seeing how the Wii U has been selling.  It would be some good momentum for the Wii U to build upon.  Hopefully, the Q1 lineup for the Wii U is stronger than it looks so far...

I'd say no, but nothing to stop it selling like hotcakes during what likely to be its peak holiday. I presume Walmart underestimated demand because previously weak sales.

Wii U sells out = Trolololol, it has low stock, obviously it's gonna sell out with a few people buying it.

PS4/X1 sells out = Hell yeah, (insert company name) is gonna beat (insert company name). It's breaking records, the best thing ever.

Let's just be happy that Wii U will hopefully sell out of its planned shipped consoles.
