3D Platformers for me, just because I played/enjoyed them more than the 2D ones.

Ratchet and clank has combat mechanics.... So does Sly..... Heck, so does Mario.

Pretty hard one. My fave platformer is 2D, SMB3. so I'll go with that. Where does 2.5D go in this category?
3D platformers are significantly harder to do well.
As a result, there are many 3D platformers that are done horribly or even mediocrely compared to 2D platformers which are simpler and usually all good. But when a 3D platformer is good, it far exceeds that of 2D.
I like both, but a good 3D platformer is better than a good 2D platformer.

Normally 2.5D should be a separate category, but in this case I think 2.5D games go in the 2D category!
