Forums - Microsoft - Why I think Microsoft heavily contributed to Rare's downfall.

What are you talking about? Star Fox is rated quite highly. I was being sarcastic about Mickey's speedway, becuase I've never heard of it.

I'm talking about Star Fox Adventures game sale's ... Many people argued that Major's Mask game sales attributed to the fact that it wasn't as good as it's predecessor, not because it released at a later life cycle of the N64 and the same case applies to Twilight Princess to Skyward Sword.

Well now you know that Rare's downfall wasn't caused by Microsoft's cause they were already in a decline with Mickey's Speedway USA ...

Star Fox Adventures sold more than Command and Assaut combinded.

Those games mentioned aside from Star Fox Adventures are not AAA games therefore your comparison remains null ...

Star Fox Adventures was an unacceptable successor to the venerable Star Fox 64 and it's Rare at fault here before they were bought out by Microsoft. Whether you accept that Rare was declining or not before Microsoft bought them is none of my concern seeing as I overstayed my company in this thread ...

Well Viva Pinata has a 84 meta and TIP has an 82. Also Perfect Dark Zero has a 81 meta. So I think they've still made pretty good games, they just lost their way with being forced to make Kinect games since 2010.

Most of the talent that made Rare what they were during the 90s had already left by the time M$ bought them out. As much as I wish they had stayed with Nintendo, its now apparent that we'd have gotten similarly mediocre games throughout the life of the GC / Wii. I doubt they'd have even done a better job at the DKC reboot than Retro did.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I never said it had to be AAA games! Why the heck did you think that? Star Fox Adventures was a freaking spinoff! Why would people think that?

Star Fox Adventures is most certainly not a spin-off! Where did you even hear this ?!

Even the story will tell that it's a clear sequel to Star Fox 64 ...

Pretty much everything Rare did on the N64 was over rated and hasn't held up particularly well.

Its not MS's fault expectations grew and Rare couldn't deliver. Anyhow, Viva Pinata, Banjo N&B, and Kinect Sports, are actually pretty good.

Also, MS has made excellent use out of the Killer Instinct IP. The new KI is arguably one of the best fighting games ever created.

I don't know about that.. I'd say that the Banjo games and Conker's Bad Fur Day still hold up pretty well.

Its hard to make amazing games for a peripheral that has such crappy gaming integration, when they're actually able to make games for a regular controller they are more than capable.

And who's to blame for this ?!

What you mention is besides the point anyway ...
