Forums - Gaming - Konami Should make PES Playstation Exclusive

No, I was explaining the 3rd party games that companies seek out for exclusivity are often desired by consumers of a competiting platform. Bayonetta 2 is a good example of that as well.

You somehow came to conclusion MS does that because their 1st party is weak, that's a ridiculous response. Their 1st party is strong and they can afford to do some moneyhatting, like Sony did when they had more money.

I think Titanfall was a bad move by EA. Not just because PS4 is popular, but because that game should have been made to as big of audience as possible. Even Playstation exclusivity would have been a bad move. I see Playstation fans being bitter about not getting Titanfall and try to spin it as a bad game.

If the PES series continues to grow in quality the situation for Konami will get better without help from Sony. Or maybe MS should moneyhat PES if the series grows in popularity. They can afford it.

Just no. MS first party is week. For all the money they have, they still need to reply on moneyhatting 3rd party games to make a decent exclusive list.

Sony and Nintendo don't need to do such things although will occasionally buy 3rd part exclusives.

Titanfall has a lot of potential but it was half a game released at full price. IW prob had production issues (think they had a small team). But the sequal has an awful lot to improve on. Agreed about it being exclusive for either platform, ultimitely that's going to damage it going forward.

Pes has been improving but the sales keep getting worse. Fifa's grip is getting stonger by the year. It's almost impossible for them to get back but making the better game every year would help.

Lastly if MS moneyhatted PES that would be the end of the series. They bundled it heavily one year and it's sales were still way less than it's PS counter part. If it went exclusive now for xbox it's lights out. I find it funny how you suggest that for MS but you don't think going with Sony where it sells 90% of it's sales would be a better idea.

PES PS4 vs X1 is 13 -1. Just think about that.

Just yes, MS 1st party is better. And again, Sony and MS excel in some genres where the other does not.

Sony can't really afford to money hat anymore, I bet they would if they could and they did in the past. Nintendo can afford to moneyhat and have, I think they regret the deal they made with Sega at the moment.

Saying Titanfall is half a game like saying The Order 1886 is half a game for just being single player. Also, I'd argue great multiplayer has more value than a single player campaign. I've spent more time with Titanfall than most single player experiences.

If MS moneyhatted PES maybe the hardcore PES fans would go to Xbox! It was just an idea. Tomb Raider Definitive Edition sold a lot better on Playstation but MS somehow got the timed exclusivity. Hence, MS just has to pay to make up the difference, right? PES is a cheaper game to moneyhat than Tomb Raider.

How is MS first party better when they have no major exclusives for like 8 months next year? What do they have competing with bloodbourne and the order? Half their games "exclusives" come out on PC anyway.

And I reckon Sony wouldn't moneyhat like MS do even if they could given how dominant the PS4 is WW. All they need is exclusive advertising and the game will dominate on Playstation. If MS get the advertising the game still sells more on Playstation and sometimes a lot more examples being Dragon, Age, Advanced Warfare and Fifa. So they are happy out.

No it;s not because Titanfall is half a game for an online game. God that really was barebones stuff and it's no wonder the game has  been going for 5$ on BF and the xbox complete version going for 12$. There are very few people left playing the game at least before the firesale. And that's confirmed by countless owners on here.

Yeah MS got the exclusisivity for Tomb Raider but it's not going to sway PS owners in big numbers. Obviously not now that we know it's only timed but it doesn't take a genius to know MS can only get most of their exclusives timed to begin with. Their true exclusive line up (games made by them) is very weak.

And no PES going exclusive would be suicide for the franchise. It would just die. It sells well in Japan so there goes a lot of people that would never switch. And in the EU and ROW people would all switch to FIFA. That is a terrible idea and MS nor Konami would never do it because they would be signing the death  of it. But if they went with Sony only it could work out well for the franchise and that's without Sony moneyhatting. Their dominat platform is just a receipe for success.

if Konami made PES exclusive to PS4, then we wont be able to laugh at the competition sale figures.

When Sony had money they did moneyhat, that's all I'll say about that.

I missed on those Titanfall sales you're talking about because those were limited. Those sold out quickly, right?

I saw 4K people on the Titanfall servers before Black Friday. The only console shooters with bigger populations that are very popular shooters.

MS's true line up isn't amazing yet still better than what PS4 is offering at the moment.

I didn't say Tomb Raider was going to sway big numbers, but they aquired exclusivity because it will appeal to some and it should be a great game to push next holiday along with Halo 5.

If Konami was offered enough money to cover the cost of skipping Playstation they would do it. But don't worry, MS isn't interested.

Only if the cost of producing FES for the Xbox One can't be recouped. If the profit margin is at least 2x the production cost, they should keep doing it. In the end, the discrepancy is huge. Perhaps, they can petition Sony for an exclusive deal. Seeing the results, I am not certain Sony would even bother though.

I kind of zoned out in your post but 2 things did catch my eye that i wanted to correct you on:

1. Idk why you'd make disparaging comments about one companies 1st party offering or tendency to buy titles, and then ask what that company has to compete against Bloodborne and The Order. You realize neither of these are 1st party, and both are moneyhatted?

2. Regarding Titanfall, i play the game virtually every day. I play LTS almost exclusively. Its probably not even top 3 in the games most popular playlists, and yet i always find games quick and get full games. Just got to the very top of the ranked play rank list too. Its great. Maybe try things for yourself so you know whats going on as opposed to parroting the words of "countless" users on a message board.

If the sales ratio stays at 13-1 then it could make sense to go exclusive. They could get some perk from Sony, have less development cost, and exclusivity would likely give them a boost greater than the 7% lost sales on Xbox One just by attracting attention to the game.

I don't think Sony would want to piss off EA by bundling PES though. Maybe they could do a bundle in Japan.

Sony still have money. That's all I'll say about that.

They were limtied but they lasted a long time. In the PC the whole of November even. The online was dead before BF (read this from xbox owners) and no surprise considering they released half a game. It has potential but just like Destiny the sequel would want to be a whole lot better.

MS's first party line up involves a lot of games not made by them. That's what I'm talking about. Sony actually supported the PS3 into the very last year so a lot of their 3rd part developers were tied up. A good xample of this is Bloodbourne and The Order releasing next year.

Tomb Raider would appeal to some yes and those Xbox owners will be please whether it was exclusive or not. Meanwhile they pissed off a lot of Sony fans who will now wait for the game. A better option that this would be to use the money spent of timed exclusivity and spend it on a brand new game PS4 owners would be jealous of and will never get. That way Xbox owners are happy with tomb raider and even happier with their new MS exclusive.

Basically MS are being lazy and sadly they have the money to do so. Another great example of this was the 50M spent on timed GTA 4 DLC. They could have made 2/3 AAA games with that money. Bad practice and bad for the industry that.

It would have to be a ridiculous amount of money because going xbox exclusive will kill the franchise. I don't get why you're too stubborn to agree with me on this. You say if they got enough money to cover the cost of PS they would make it Xbox exclusive yet you don't think if they went PS exclusive and got enough bundles to cover the xbox profit they wouldn't do it?

And the deal wouldn't be so simple for MS. They can't just pay the money Konami would make off PS. In that case they would just stick with PS get the same money and keep all their fans happy. That deal is doing massive damage to their game so they would demand 10 times the money they would make off Playstation.

As you said MS isn't interested and the reason being nobody from Playstation is gonna get an xbox just for it and secondly the game wouldn't sell so it will be a big waste of money.

Tomb Raider also a waste now that it's widely known PS4 will get it.

how is bloodbourne or the order moneyhatted? both are knew ip's created by sony and they hired devs to make them. It's not like it's a 3rd party game that's going to be multiplatform and then they throw 50M at them to keep it PS4 only.

i'll take the words of many more xbox players than you. they prob play the less popular gamemodes. i would try the game out but it's not my type of game. just like i won't buy destiny, call of duty (anymore), halo, bloodbourne etc etc I only buy games I like and don't fall for the hype.

EA is already very dickish to Sony and very Xbox biased. SOny show them too much respect considering they make them most of their money from sales on the PS platforms.

EA have had many an Xbox exclusive game, recently Titanfall and before that games like Mass Effect. The head of them used to be with MS and they rowed right in behind the Xbox and their anti consumer policies.

This year they did a madden and fifa bundle for xbox despite their bigger fanbases for those being on Playstation. Fifa PS4 dominates Fifa X1. So maybe Sony should do a deal like this with Konami and bundle their game for exclusivity. EA might start being a little more PS friendly then. Pes plays much better this year than Fifa so they would not want the game getting major exposure. They want PES kept firmly under their foot where it has no chance of ever growing again. And it would be best for football fans cus I bought Fifa 15 this year and the way it launched was a joke. They need a kick up their arse that makes them put a real effort into Fifa again.
