PES is not better then FIFA or it would sell more.  The better game usually sells more look at the sales for Live 15 versus NBA 2K15 for example.  Live 15 is a terrible game and its reflected in its sales.  NBA 2K15 is a good game but not the best one in the franchise and that is also reflected in its sales.

The difference with Sunset and PES is Sony is getting PES anyway. If MS didn't give Insomniac the creative control of their IP they wouldn't have gotten the game at all.

And your opinion on the quality of PES vs FIFA is not relevant. Sales are relevant in this situation.

so you think if MS refused them the IP Insomniac would have just said fuck this and went on welfare? MS only offered them that because it was the only way to get them away from SOny. 

And Sony could have agreed to get SO anyway by allowing them the IP the same way as they get PES but they refused. Obviously a stubborn decision but looking at the sales of SO and the sales of the PS4 it didn't have much concequences.

Sweet, do you have a link to where MS confirmed why they allowed Insomniac to keep the IP? Or maybe Insomniac discussed it? Because otherwise youre talking out of your butt.

Not that it matters. The bottom line is it was a flawed comparison because Sony is getting PES no matter what. They dont need to appease whoever makes it in any way.

ANd it's not flawed the way you are trying to say it is because Sony was getting SO unless they demanded ownership of the IP. Likewise if they demanded ownership of PES they wouldn't get it. It's the same thing. 

PES was never the king of football.  FIFA was always the more popular and better franchise.  NBA Live on the other hand used to be the king of basketball games even though it always had some decent competion.  But then 2K came along and totally dethroned it so much so that it had to take a hiatus for a couple of years and looking at the sales of LIve 14 and 15 it probably would be a good idea to take another hiatus or better yet just give up.

Right, it "flops" on Xbox. So there isn't much of a reason for Sony to jump on it. Now if it starts to perform better on Xbox then maybe Sony should consider getting some sort of exclusivity deal.

Why did MS get the next Tomb Raider as a timed exclusive? Because that series performs well on Playstation. See how this works?

Titanfall was a desireable exclusive because that could have sold really well on Playstation as well.

Sony aren't going to flog millions for exclusives they don't need. Plus MS have a terrible first party line up over all and need something to combat uncharted. I pointed out a cost effective way for both companies. It's basically possible because it sells 13 times more on PS4 compared to X1. That's never the case with 3rd parties. The usual SOny dominance is usually 2 or 3:1

And when MS bought titanfall exclusivity a ton of people thought he Xbox would sell more so i'd bet EA thought titanfall would have sold better on the Xbox. The reality is it would have sold a lot better on the playstation. But they didn't know that at the time of the deal so you can't bring that game up.

MS has arguably better 1st party games than PS4 at the moment. MS doesn't have anything to combat Uncharted 4, while Sony doesn't have anything at par with Halo 5. Neither company has the best games in all genres.

Getting PES as an exclusive isn't going to benefit Sony much since its not a desired by Xbox owners. Simple as that.
