Forums - Nintendo - AC Rogue numbers, so what Ubisoft

Because putting a half-baked port 6 months later at full price sounded as a better idea.

Seriously, what the hell are they smoking this year?

Frogs?

(Hopefully not turtles xD)

No seriously. I also have no idea what they are doing. I have no idea what the whole industry is doing for the last 10 years actually.

Ubi just wanted to milk money out of it. no worries, they can afford that rogue flopped big time. they would still release AC VI next year. and would sell a lot. ;)

Looking at AC rogue debut, it seems that the game won't come close to a million units in a single plataform... It probably will peform just 1.5 or 2 times the half assed port of ACIV for Wii U.

I really don't understand why Ubisoft didn't make the game for the Wii U too, they were like 80% the way with AC IV,  the visuals were above Xbox 360, adjusting that terrible framerate to 30fps locked and the version would make it the Ultimate one to go, since there wasn't a PS4/Xone version.

Rayman proved it.

Ubisoft have tried to release serious games on Nintendo platforms and they have failed to sell suffience copies. They said the reason they are not putting any more serious games on Wii u is because they sell like shit.

AC: Rogue was made by a B-team using assets from AC: Black Flag. It is pretty much a reskinned version of that game with less content.

I played Zombi U it was good but flawed, I played AC III and AC IV, both of them suffered from serious framerate problems due to bad porting. I bought Rayman Legends and Child of Light, these were very well crafted games for the Wii U, and Rayman it end up selling better than its next gen competitors, even though they delayed the game.

So ZombiU and Rayman Legends were just two games made with U in mind, ZombiU did quite good sales, for a doomed console. You might say that ACV was a disaster and still selling, but look they already release a patch and will release another, with U no one release patches.

I bought Injustice, there was missing lobby.

I bought Fifa 13, it was missing all features of Fifa 13.

AC III / AC IV had serious framerate problems, both which I bought.

I understand companies not wanting to release games in the Wii U due to poor sales, but when they do release, they release incomplete games with a lot of bugs, this is a disrespect. First a lot of people will skip them to buy in bugless plataforms and also the one who bought will skip their next installment.

Yeah fair enough but people will not know these issues until they buy the game first, pity nobody does though.

The fanbase for the games you mentioned above are not on wii u and they will not buy the console to play these titles on. The games mentioned above are synonoumous with Sony and Xbox consoles.

You got to give Ubisoft some credit, at least they tried

Except they didn't.

AC3 was released with the console, just 18 days later than the game on PS3 and 360, it was impossible to do it before that. AC4 was released the same day.

Only in the US. About a month later for other regions.

There are several things that baffles me. Capcom not releasing Resident Evil Revelations 2 for the WiiU or Konami not releasing Pro Evolution Soccer on it. Fifa is not one the console. You would have a complete monopoly.

Theres not thinking your games will sell on the WiiU and then theres just stupidity in management, like in these two cases...

Take a look a Revelations 1 sales on Wii U.  Stupidity would be repeating something and expecting different results.

I imagine a lot of Wii U owners also own a 3DS, thus many may own a copy of Revelations and didnt want to double dip. A brand new Resi game on Wii U would probably do ok.

why not put it on 3ds or something it would outsell the xbo version just with japan :P

maybe because making a 3ds version would holding back the game??

it´s really weak hardware at this point

Interesting detail... maybe we can use another game to predict the imaginary sales of Assassin's Creed Rogue. Let's give it a try to Batman: Arkham Origins I think it was also delayed in Europe but only 2 weeks, it does not have PS4 and X1 versions, it is consider the minor version compared with the usual saga and is missing a feature (multiplayer) but it was offered at a reduced price to compensate.

BAO:

PS3: 1.96

X360: 1.51

Wii U: 0.18, around 9.2% of the PS3 and 11.2% of the X360 one

Let's project because the Wii U has a bigger install base, hell lets be optimistic and say 15% of the PS3 version and 18% of the 360 edition for Assassin's Creed Rogue, and lets go once again with .

ACR:

PS3: 0.17

X360: 0.15

WiiU: 0.027

Still not worth it, lets make a projection and say that ACR gets LTD similar to BAO, maybe a little less, say 10% less. Projected sales for ACR for WiiU would be... 0.24 and once again not worth it for the company and below AC3 sales, it did not make financial sense to start this project.

Cool, and now why this strain of logic is flawed.

1. Insinuation that everyone who bought the game on 3DS is a Nintendo fan.

Simply not true at all.  As a member of the RE community I can personally attest that there were a lot of people who hated that fact it was on 3DS, yet bought a 3DS to play it anyway.

2. Insinuation that everyone who owns a Wii U bought the game on 3DS.

This is false, and if we break down sales of the 3DS game by region, it sold poorly outside of Japan, so most of the 3DS/Wii U joined owners outside Japan have no excuse not to buy it on Wii U, as they didn't buy it on 3DS.

3. Insinuation that no PS3, 360 or PC owner owns a 3DS or bought the game on 3DS already.

With the numbers 3DS has sold it is actually far more likely there are more 3DS owners who own a non Wii U console than there are Wii U.  Certainly the RE fanbase does because that is where most of the RE games have been for last generation.

4. They rebought SSB, so no reason not to rebuy RE Revelations.

Every excuse is weak.  The game sold poorly so it doesn't get the sequel.

It sold poorly on the 360 as well, but that seems to get the sequel... Weird how that works isnt it?

SSB3DS and SSBU are not the same game. Different levels and different modes.

The rest is just your opinion...
