Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Xenoblade X for Wii U be the first (Edit- Second party...my gawd People!!)third party game on the Wii U to break a million in sales?

Could do 750k with an excellent reception. Would be really surprised if it hit a million, but well, it would be a good surprise.

It would need extensive marketing, good reception and excellent sales on Xenoblade remaster if it releases before.

If the remaster releases after X (didn't check if release dates are already known) than it cannot break the 1 million mark.

Why make so many people it that difficult?

Nintendo EAD - First Party (Nintendos own studio)

Monolith Soft - Second Party (Nintendo owns the most share holdings, but not the whole Studio)

Ubisoft Montreal - Third Party.

Topic: Well, Xenoblade Chronicles did 900k if I a not wrong. Advertising is now much more so .. why not?

I think it will do more a million lifetime, even 1.5M if Nintendo advertise it properly and make some bundles.

Edit: Monolith is a first party studio btw.

For crying out loud it's a first party game.

I'd be surprised. I think Xenoblade Chronicles benefited in the States from the huge amount of publicity generated by NoA's refusal to publish the game. It obviously benefited in Europe from stellar reviews.

X needs huge critical acclaim, good advertising and a lot of luck to get close to 1 million. As optimistic as I want to be, it's time to accept that very few Wii U titles are performing well. Nintendo's core fanbase aren't buying the titles that aren't typical Nintendo fare, and even then, Donkey Kong has struggled. The signs aren't good.

I'd expect 500 to 750k lifetime, though I'd love to be wrong, it's my most anticipated Wii U title next to Zelda.

May I point out the stupidness of this thread, the game never stood a chance at being the first 1m seller from a non 1st party studio on WiiU. Not only because they are a Nintendo 1st Party developer but because Smash Bros is completely outsourced so its a 2nd Party developed game =P

I don't care if it reaches a million or not. I just hope it breaks even and then some on top of that.

Changing the title won't do any good. It renders the thread useless I'm afraid. Why not change it to "first Wii U game to break 1M that's not Mario or Zelda".

Wii Party U did that last year

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

It's first party. It doesn't matter who made it. Nintendo owns the IP. That's like saying minish cap or w101 are third/second party games.

Monolith Soft is first party....
