Forums - Microsoft - Rise of the Tomb Raider - timed exclusive actually a big deal.

I remember that when Tomb Raider came out, I wasn't the least interested in it and didn't want to buy it. My brother did buy it, and I got around to play it. I liked the game and the free roaming around the island was impressive, but it's no Uncharted. Microsoft can attempt to compete against Uncharted, but I doubt Rise of the Tomb Raider will make the long lasting effect as the latter.

its not only about graphics. In saying that TR is no slouch in the graphics department. Gameplay is very important and for me after playing TR Definititve edtion on ps4, i have to saytomb raider has a better gameplay mechanics and a better storyline as well.

Playstation 4 owners should not care, they will have Uncharted 4: A Thief's End next Holiday.

LOL That was some of the most horrible writing ive ever seen. This was supposed to be a more realistic and gritty Tomb Raider as well. Her supporting cast were expendable and terribly written. Lara is a recieved the same injuries as characters from the Last of Us and lived a weekend on an abandoned and haunted island explaining. I mean...the storyline was borderlining unbelievable even while using indiana jones tropes. Its just terrible writing all around. Nowhere in Naughty Dogs league.

I kinda feel the same. I really liked the last Tomb Raider and Im looking forward to Rise of the Tomb Raider but...Uncharted VS Tomb Raider, Uncharted wins. So I get to enjoy Uncharted then enjoy Tomb Raider 6-12 months later.

It would be nice if they did like a Uncharted/Tomb Raider crossover in the future....just thinking out loud

No. Lara has no personality and her abilities are overexaggerated. Nathan Drake is a much more relatable, funny and flawed character with issues his own issues to deal with. Uncharted isn't rambo raider. Nathan is just trying to survive while finding treasure and escaping other gangs of explorers. Tomb Raider was purely a murder fest with a bad storyline. Not to say I didnt enjoy it quite a bit, but thats all it really was. The gameplay didnt match the story. She wasn't surviving.

LOL I'd rather just keep the distinction..one a mindless, murdering rich girl who is  dying of bloodloss, wraps it with a magical bandage and remembers tricks she was taught from mommy and daddy that randomly had amnesia and when she snaps out of it shes she-rambo. Of course during the multiple days she forgets she has a hole in her abdominals, which Joel from Last of Us similarly sustained and almost died from while time was of the essence. The other is a thief and historian with nothing to lose.
