I wouldn't mind seeing Sony bought out by Apple. Seems more likely than Nintendo being bought out by anyone, and makes more sense.

Easy there! The point of the thread is to discuss things that have been popular as of late. I'm not implying that the article on Disney was a 100% accurate read or anything. It was an opinion piece and many have that opinion I'm sure. I just wanted people to discuss the issue.

I would like Nintendo to buy smaller studios that have potential to create western style IPs. Somebody like Shinen would fit the bill, they are highly talented developers that are renound for getting the best out of hardware, they also have tons of experience working with/on Nintendo hardware. With financial backing and a bit of creative freedom they could help fill the FPS/ racer void and maybe even work on a sports sim. Maybe High voltage software too, i found the Conduit games to be very entertaining and thought they did a good job on Wii hardware.

Disney would really benefit from buying Nintendo. And Dinsey would really benefit from Nintendo's low value these days.

I don't think anything like that will happen, but it would be totally awesome if Apple bought Nintendo. Think of it, we would get a console with cutting Edge Technology, Great Design and build quality together with the Great games of Nintendo! I would buy that thing in a heartbeat!

The problem is that Nintendo generally likes to develop cheaper technology and sell their devices for a very small amount compared to the competition. Think about the Wii U. If that thing didn't have the gamepad, it would be probably half the cost of the ps4/xboxone and it's graphical capabilities are much higher than half of those two devices. Apple loves to sell their products way more than they are worth simply because they are the ones that make them.

An named Hiroshi Yamauchi tells you why. You should read How Mario conquered America. It provides great insight to why Yamauchi was very strict. Also, buying Capcom would be awesome. They were one of the only Japanese third parties who cared about Nintendo enough to make games during the N64-GCN period.
