Forums - Nintendo Discussion - People said Pokemon is for kids...

Not sure about you guys, but it's been a while since I saw a kid that liked pokemon.I think that most of it's fanbase are people who watched the anime, and played it's games when they first released, which I believe most would be adults nowdays...

It is mainly aimed at kids, doesn't mean that is its only audience though.

Also... some of those adults there may very well be buying the game for their kids...

So true...

It launched in Japan in what? 1996? That's 17 years ago now.

That means the kid who was 12-13 years old then and got into it would be in their late 20s/30s by now.

Pokemon is an awesomely deep strategic game.

Pokemon is mainly made for kids, there's no denying that. There wouldn't be a silly TV show otherwise. However, that doesn't mean that adults can't enjoy it. There are also many many adults who enjoy Lion King and so many more Disney movies. But that doesn't mean that those movies were made for adults.

No it's not really hard for a kid to play pokemon, unless you define kid as a 5 year old.

Please explain what you mean by playing "seriously".
