Forums - Gaming - *Reviews Aren't Accurate Anymore

And that is where its tricky. Do you hold off on your review until the update? Or do you criticize it which is also deserved.

This is true. Basically, games are now reviewed in a "test run" stage. Do you buy the game now in anticipation for its potential or do you wait until it actually proves itself?

Consumers definitely have to be smart about it though.

So what ur saying is that its too much to ask for the developers to make sure they ship a working game? I thought the whole entire point of getting the physical copy is so that you dont have to rely on their servers in order to play the game. I am personally glad that some games are being docked points for shipping a game with bugs cause that in itself should be unacceptable.

Either ways, reviewers seem to be adapting the update system when it comes to review score. So if thr game is shit or the bugs are fixed, they can review the game accordingly so that seems to be where its headed

Most Nintendo games comes out day 1 with minimal glitches and delivers a quality experience. All the other games that got reviewed this year that I have played on PS4 deserved the criticism that it got. They were good games but not must have that delivers an experience on par with what a 90+ game normally gives.

One can't count DLC and patches as the Game's initial score.....because those are EXTRA's that NOT everyone will get.

And yes....KID ICARUS UPRISING IS INACCURATE!!! DEM STUPID REVIEWERS COULD NOT CONTROL IT PROPERLY!

I'm sure the developers aren't trying to ship a game with bugs. It's their projects that they've been working on for years, they want to be proud of it. They want people to like it. They are probably on strict time limits, not the consumers / reviewers fault but I'm sure they don't like it either.

All I'm saying is that reviews no longer paint the whole picture. Not blaming anyone for it. That's just how it is.

Kind of agree with the OT but the reviews are pretty accurate with the product they're given right then. If the reviewers can update the reviews based on the update for the games then that would be helpful for those that will decide to purchase the game much later and not be misinformed by the initial review.

I think reviewers should also rate the developers when reviewing their games. That way it'll definitely look bad on them and maybe they'll actually try to put more effort before releasing the game.

ie. NHL14 - 8.3 for blah blah blah / EA - 4.0 for copy and pasting same game over without fixing bugs from previous year etc.....

perfect example GTA4

Well then they need to learn how to manage their time... a lot of these developers have been in the industry for years and if they still havnt learnt how to manage their time efficiently, then they deserve it and the publisher also deserves getting critized for it as well

Game reviews needs to get back to a 3 man team.

That way you will get a better view of the game for different perspectives.

Between jaded reviewers, reviewers who are in love with certain game series and reviewers that hate a certain genre of games.

A 3 man review team will give every game the best review possible.
