Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Gamespot - Halo MCC review 6 / 10

Multiplayer is a huge part of halo and the MP not working, for several days, is a giant mistep (much like DriveClub but I assume much less serious)

EDIT: Thinking over it, after paying $60, the least we can expect is a functioning game, both on the SP and MP part so this score is fair in my opinion.  This isn't their first rodeo, there is no reason for this to have happened.

"The Good
Core combat formula is engaging throughout every campaign
New Halo 2: Anniversary cutscenes are fantastic
Slick, intuitive menu organization

The Bad
Online multiplayer barely works"

Still, a 6 seems a bit low

How many points would you give a Mario game where "jumping barely works"?

10/10... for a game without jumps

1. Thread is about halo not Mario.

2. He cited gamespot points not his opinions.

3. Stop derailing thread.

Oh come on, we both know thats not the samething. With MCC, you have like 4 single player campaigns from 4 different games so at least, its not all bad. Granted online is one of the main focuses of Halo but for $60, you are getting 4 different games and all of their single player still works at 1080p 60fps so at least, you can do something while MS gets their online sorted out. If Mario's jump bearly works, then you would have a hard time getting passed the first Gomba in level 1-1. I would have given MCC at least a 7-7.5 for the single player alone considering how many games these days get higher scores for much less content.

No the single player hasn't been working that great either. Framerate issues, constant crashing, achievements not popping up, lots of problems on that end. These problems are very annoying for anyone who payed $60.

The score should be raised when the game gets fixed though.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Seems harsh to me, but maybe they'll learn from this for H5. Going to be strange in the future when these issues are fixed.

Well deserved. Every game that ships incomplete and broken should not be scored anything higher.
It doesn't matter if it's a small indie title, a large annual franchise or your most favorite series of all time, consumers are paying $60 (and much more outside of US) and they deserve (no, they need to demand) a game that works as advertised.

Would you accept an incomplete keyboard with a promise of some letters getting added at a later time?
Would you accept sneakers without shoelaces if the store promised to mail them to you in 30 days?

That's why every single game needs to get serious points deducted.

Only then the developers and publishers will learn that they need to put in 100% of the effort to make a 100% of the game.

Really? This is the first time I have been hearing about this. I mean, I heard about some Framerate dips and some bugs but those aren't very frequent at all from the reviews I heard and I never heard about the constant crashing in single player mode?

A lot of people have been complaining about crashing so I'm not sure why it didn't show up in the reviews. My game has crashed three times in Halo 2.
