Forums - Sales - XB1 is undertracked yet keeps getting adjusted DOWN

Like I said, theres no way 3 million consoles are sitting on the selves! As of next week, my prediction is standing at 8.3 million. The ps4 is around 13.5-14 million for me (since it was shipped not sold, at least in my knowledge). By years end, I predict 11 million xbox ones sold, 16-17 million ps4's sold, and 9 million Wii U's sold.

Doesn't matter, vgchartz has a poor track record, so I take their numbers with a grain of salt! If they ACTUALLY got this from retailers then it would be a different story, these numbers are just "estimates"! They mean little more than my word or your word!

yes we all know that, but they are also constantly compared to officially released numbers aswell as NPD.   you cant say its in the US because we know thats numbers. we also get numbers for the UK.     It does matter where those sales come from.  your talking about 1.5 million units.  thats almost as many as has sold in the us from jan-sept(according to NPD, which was 1.599million).    where are these sales taking place?

Considering Sony lost last year because of stock, Over stuffing the Channel is literally the best course of action more or less.

This has already been addressed previously.

VGC simply can't use stealth corrections for its numbers every time there's a discrepancy between official company numbers and retail sell through estimates. That would essentially invalidate the VGC numbers and formula for calculating estimates.

Every time significant adjustments are made, those discrepancies need to be accounted for and changes must be made to the estimation formula before they show up in the VGC numbers.

It is really puzzling, but there will be an explanation when any corrections are made.

With regards to the XBO, now that it is available in more markets it's going to see some of the same problems that plagued the PS3 numbers (and to a lesser degree, the PS4) that accounted for a lot of the discrepancies.

If VGC makes it a practice to simply add or subtract numbers every time an official statement is released with no explanation, it would defeat the purpose of its estimates in the first place.

Well clearly their estimation formula needs adjustments. Are you trying to say xbox one/ps4 are going to be undertracked until gen 9 comes out??

Of course not.

It means VGC will have to change the way they make their estimates to account for the regions that are throwing off accuracy and place the overall numbers within a reasonable margin of error.
