Forums - Sales - XB1 is undertracked yet keeps getting adjusted DOWN

There is no logic anymore... at least we have NPD today so at least US we will see how October is accurate.

But that is of course my opinion.

Why is it undertracked?

I don't know why they think it's that. Maybe MS PR was successful as noted here:

Not 10 million, but people are thinking it's sales aren't far behind. I said this in a different thread, but we know the sales were below 5 million in August, but even if we ran with their 5 million sold to consumers announcement in August (that they removed because it was wrong), to then put the XBone at 7.5, 8.5, 9M whatever people are saying, that would imply the XBone has sold 2.5M+ in the last two months, when it hadn't mustered up that many sales all year (as of August). That's crazy.

Then you see posts like "I don't believe they have 2 million on the shelves", but people fail to remember that MS had 900k on the shelves.....this past January, when sales slow down significantly. Is it so impossible to believe that 2M (maybe more) are on shelves, when they just bundled various games for free and slashed the price to $349? Is it illogical that they flooded the channels in preparation for the holidays (in conjunction with the bundling and price drop), then used that figure as positive PR preemptively for the impending NPD loss? Or am I just imagining things when I see things like this, and that's just for one store? No way they have a whole bunch of units on the shelves

I and ethomaz consider that they mean that they will have shipped 10m by the end of the year...but they did it with a suspiciously unclear way! it's like a forecast...

X1 isn't undertracked.

PS4 and X1 keep getting adjusted down while selling well, WiiU keep getting adjusted up while selling bad! It's like the website's calculator is broken or some such thing..

when was the last time wii u was adjusted up?

What good is knowing? Then what? Just wait bros..

Well MS did announce 7.4m or so shipped as of the end of Sept. I believe the shipped vs. sold gap was 1.7-1.8m here. @ioi: Do you believe they had so many on shelves back then (and more now)?

Same question for PS4, where the gap was even bigger (2.1m+) and yet PS4 got adjusted...not up, but down!

didn't we just have shipment numbers a couple weeks back?

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

plus microsoft announced X1 shipped 10 million units, so the gap is only 2 million worldwide now.

MS announced that they will have shipped 10M units "shortly". We don't know exactly when this shortly is, but it could very well be for the holidays.
And what gap are you refering to? It's 1,2 behind WiiU at the moment according to Vgchartz. Surely you don't believe that it's 2m behind PS4 WW?
Even if they've already shipped those 10m units and sold them through to the consumers, they wouldn't reach those numbers.

Worldwide in the US is clearly what he meant

Yes, 2m+ on shelves isn't unusual at this time of year for platforms that will be doing 500k - 1m per week over the holidays.

At the end of September though? The holidays are almost two months away at that point
