Yes, 2m+ on shelves isn't unusual at this time of year for platforms that will be doing 500k - 1m per week over the holidays.

At the end of September though? The holidays are almost two months away at that point

yeah... but usually October is already a month with several high profile game releases that moves more HW than usual and retailers start preping for that before it happens. So, end of september and October is usually the time more HW is "on shelves" in preperation for individual game releases and Holydays.
edit: and bundles also start to ship out.

ioi any comment about wii u?my theory is that wii u has  a little number on the shelves because many stores  don t have it or have few, not order any or order few and that they are  not willing to stock up.They  just get what they can sell because they are a little biased and afraid of wii u(make me thinking that ninty underships)!Even whole countries don t have it...so nintendo almost sells what it ships!Do you agree?Because your tracking agrees:P

welcome to the xbox 360 and ps3 saga,pretty much the same deal
i dont get ioi and their tracking methods , the illusion of accuracy comes from its constant adjustments
this site needs to improve greatly on itstracking method especially on the ps side whichforsomeconvenientreason are consistently over tracked

And why the sold data from Sony didn't match with VGC data yet? The issues is before Setember from what I see.

PS4 is getting adjusted down too. Not sure what's going on. I would think PS4 is in the high 13 millions by now at least.
