Its EAD. It will no doubt have a high level of quality in its production and tight gameplay, but all the same EAD is also judged on standard that it is EAD. It's also a fairly limited game in scope as it is a pure-puzzle game which is not exactly a big thing in any aspect or very popular.
I think Smash Bros will get a metacritic over 90
I also think metacritic shouldnt accept reviews from websites with names similar to "nintendo is awesome" or "we love playstation".
The playstation sites are saving the new Ass creed and they are the difference why it has a much better metacritic for ps4 than for xbone (the game is identical in both consoles cuz ubiparity)

LBP got a 95 on meta, and LBP 2 got a 91. Let's wait and see...

??? I never was saying LBP wouldn't get a 90+, i was saying that its not many left over now. Only 3 games really have a shot, LBP was one of them.

Fair enough.

Only so many times a set of creation tools can save average platforming so I could see it getting somewhere in the 80s with the way reviewers seem to be getting harsher. Hopefully they've tweaked the actual game mechanics for the 3rd becuase, while I really like the concept of the game, it just feels clunky as hell.

GOTYs should be interesting this year, since many of the highest-rated and most high-profile releases of the year were rereleases (MCC, TLOU, GTA), and therefore will most likely be disqualified from contention, and most of the uber-hyped AAA blockbusters (Titanfall, Destiny, Watch_Dogs) were underwhelming. What we're left with are a few relatively niche games vying for attention. The only really big game left is... Smash Bros... and for that reason I kind of hope it doesn't win. I'd rather see Dark Souls, Bayonetta, LittleBigPlanet, Shovel Knight, or something else along those lines be recognized. |
I have a feeling Far Cry(if it turns out to be decent), Destiny or DA:I will take GOTY. LittleBig Planet does not have the "AAA" spectacle, ShovelKnight is an indie game, Bayonetta 2 is too outlandish, Dark Souls 2 is developed by a Japanese developer and Smash Bros might get flak for being too samey.

If this is reason enough to pass a game over, you needn't have come up with other reasons for Bayonetta and Smash.

Impressive. I think Ori and Smash will be 90+ as well.
