PS4/X1 is the way to go

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I think as a secondary console it'd be great. Not enough to sustain me as my primary console but would compliment my PS4 very well.

guess its better being a fake gamer then!

@TBone and Chapset
Amazingly enough, your back and forth isn't adding anything to the discussion. Ease off the gas pedal.

*raises eyebrow*
If this is your view on the console, then I'd hate to see your view on gaming in general.
If you have the money to burn or can get one discounted ... yeah it is a good secondary console.
Right now Bayonetta 2 and Super Mario 3D World are the two best (new) games of this generation so far and Pikmin 3, DKC: Tropical Freeze, and Mario Kart 8 (esp. with the DLC) are all top tier games too.
I enjoy it more than the Wii. I have a PS4, but for now I play the Wii U way more. That will change most likely as things like Uncharted 4 show up on the PS4, but for now it's a good console game wise even if Nintendo made a lot of marketing/design errors with it -- the games themselves are still immensely enjoyable and experiencing Nintendo games in HD brings back that feeling of playing Nintendo games on the Super NES for the first time. Everything is just so much more colorful and polished than the previous gen.
It's like being wrapped in a warm blanket of gaming goodness.
If you grew up with a Nintendo console or can appreciate games outside of the muted-grey space marine motif and just enjoy games regardless of it they're cartoony or trying to be realistic ... you will have a good time with this console.
If you love Nintendos own IPs or have a good Gaming PC, the Wii U is actually also a very worthwile first console.
The Advantage of the Wii U instead of a Xone (if you got a PS4) or a PS4 ( if you got a Xone) as secondary console is that almost no games will be duplicated between your consoles and each can thus provide you with a very distinct experience. Having both a Xone and a PS4 duplicates way over 90% of their gaming catalogue (mind you, this can be an advantage to get the games you like at the cheapest price by comparing pricetags and abusing sales) and just a handful (not even so much as of right now, but later on for sure) of exlusive titles to really distinguish both consoles and gaming experiences.
Yes. I play my friend's Wii U even more than my PS4! Weird isn't it? But there aren't a lottsof games that are appealing to a female gamer on the PS4 that can't be bought on the PS3. Wii U is very good if you're a female gamer and are always harrased when you play online.

Bet with Xander XT:
I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531
